FE Burman plays it cool on digital with help from technotrans
Thursday 16. July 2015 - London printer FE Burman has, with its latest press investment an HP Indigo 10000, installed the technotrans Omega chiller.
“We have been seeking a larger format digital printing press for some time,” says Michael Burman, managing director. “We took KBA Karats (direct imaging presses) more than 15 years ago but we were keen to find a larger B2 digital solution.
“Until recently it was not possible for the smaller digital presses to produce, for example, 6pp A4 or folders with flaps, and it is this type of work and other larger format, short run products that are now viable on the HP10000. The press will hopefully open up new markets.
“technotrans were very supportive through the whole process. They visited site prior to order and discussed all of the installation requirements with our other contractors to ensure a smooth and trouble free installation, enabling the press to be commissioned on time. The company has been very helpful, responsive and with a positive ‘can do’ attitude,” says Mr Burman.
“The Omega chiller provides the specific and critical cooling required for the HP Indigo; we did not want to take any risks. We already have other technotrans coolers on site, so it was an east decision to specify them for this project.”
Mr Burman believes the next game changer could well come from inkjet technology rather than the toner-based solutions. FE Burman aims to provide high quality print-based solutions for its clients it promotes its services as “helping you to communicate”.
technotrans offers temperature control solutions on both litho and digital presses as well as ink supply solutions, water treatment, filtration and humidification solutions.
