Fujifilm installs 5,000th XMF Workflow worldwide at US print service provider Christmas City Printing
Monday 15. June 2015 - Fujifilm today announces the 5,000th installation worldwide of its XMF Workflow at Christmas City Printing, a Pennsylvania, US-based print service provider.
Founded in 1981 as a letterpress and business card print shop, Christmas City Printing soon evolved into a full service commercial print provider. The company has supported its business growth over the years with the integration of conventional and digital printing technologies, and today manages its hybrid print production environment using XMF Workflow as a central hub.

It can handle complex jobs from PDF creation and preflight through imposition, trapping and output, maintaining the PDF file format right up to the final rendering stage using the Adobe PDF Print Engine (APPE) technology.
The latest version of XMF, V6.1, is a powerful and flexible production hub incorporating Mercury RIP Architecture – a technology for high speed operation developed by Adobe. As a result, XMF V6.1 achieves dramatic improvements in file processing times, harnessing the Mercury RIP Architecture to allow parallel processing of multiple jobs and reach a processing capability that is approximately 10 times greater than previous systems. This allows printing companies to utilise their output devices more effectively. In the event that output to a platesetter, proofer or digital printer is required simultaneously, XMF V6.1 can reduce processing ‘standby time’ to a minimum, ensuring that each output device is used efficiently.
Furthermore, as a single XMF instance is capable of executing the RIP processing for multiple platesetters, the number of RIP devices can be greatly reduced, resulting in easier management and lower costs. It also means that the results of the job will always be consistent – even if produced on different output devices – resulting in a highly reliable workflow.
