SGIA Education Connection Features Student Internship Board

Thursday 02. April 2015 - Members can support the future workforce through internship programs

SGIA’s Education Connection portal now offers a Student Internship Board where SGIA members can post available internship opportunities for both secondary and post-secondary students.
By hiring a student intern, members can provide real-world experience while benefiting from the extra manpower at little to no cost to their company. At the conclusion of the internship, they will have the option to hire a full-time employee who already knows their business — inside and out.
“Investing in an internship program helps develop young minds and inspire their career interests,” said Ashley Arneson, SGIA’s Associate Manager of Education. “This is a great initiative for the sustainability of our industry’s future.”
SGIA has also revamped its educational resources to include the Support a School section that lists items available for donation to education institutions to help them stay up to date with new technologies. Additionally, the Post-Secondary Programs resource offers a list of educator members who offer both Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs for students who are looking to further their education before entering the professional workforce.
