FESPA 2015 announces educational programme
Monday 09. March 2015 - Keynote speakers across sign-making, digital, screen, industrial, textile and interior printing confirmed for FESPA's Gateway of Discovery
FESPA 2015 has announced details of its educational content programme, taking place from 18-22 May 2015 at Koelnmesse in Cologne, Germany.
A robust line-up of world-renowned industry experts will host and participate in a range of sessions in the FESPA Education Hub, two theatres located on the main show floor (Hall 8). Together they will provide pertinent insight and inspiration into digital, screen, industrial and textile printing.
Sign Hub, a theatre dedicated to signage, will be featured in European Sign Expo, (Hall 7) while FESPA’s new interior design showcase, Printeriors, (Hall 9) will host its own dedicated conference on Thursday 21 May 2015. FESPA 2015’s complete content programme will ensure that all aspects of wide format speciality print are covered at FESPA 2015 Global Expo.
Education Hub
The FESPA Education Hub, which visitors can attend for free with their FESPA 2015 entry ticket, will present a mix of sessions focusing on the use of digital, screen and textile print technology for printers at all stages of adoption. Attendees will have exclusive access to invaluable information addressing the whole art and science of wide format printing. Theatre sessions will cover everything from the core basics to consider in garment, digital and screen printing, how best to manage client expectations in a demanding market, to profitable growth trends that printers can capitalise on.
Seminars will run from midday on Monday 18 May 2015 until midday Friday 22 May 2015. Sessions across the four days will include Colour Calibration for Digital Print Textiles by Scott Donovan from Bleuprint Creative; Marketing guide for printers who don’t do marketing by Print Consultant Neil Falconer; The recoloration of textile patterns by Marco Olivotto, Marco Olivotto & C. snc; The importance of picking the right heat press by Cris Saunders, Director of Sales & Marketing, Insta Graphic Systems; and Large Format Signage Printing by Dorin Pitigoi, Colour & Standardisation Expert.
Sign Hub
European Sign Expo 2015 will also feature dedicated seminars on both digital and traditional signage at its Sign Hub. The seminars, which are free-of-charge for visitors, will include a Traditional Sign Painting workshop with hand-lettering expert Sam Roberts, Better Letters; Sign Tech Time, a panel discussion with industry consultant Sophie Matthews-Paul, and Global print trends with a focus on signage run by Dr. Sean Smyth of leading industry research company, Smithers Pira.
Further sessions include Exploring the threats to the traditional signmaker with James Matthews-Paul, Editor of Output Magazine and a discussion about UK signmaking regulations with British Sign & Graphics Association Director, David Catanach.
There will also be a daily Ask the Experts panel forum. The forum will be a dedicated area where visitors and exhibitors can meet with industry experts and debate topics focused around digital signage.
Printeriors Conference
The Printeriors Conference will take place on Thursday 21 May. The seminars will be led by experts in the interior design and print industries to showcase to visitors how print can be exploited in the realm of interior decoration.
The conference will be led by English fashion designer and co-founder of Red or Dead, Wayne Hemingway. Other sessions include: Insights into the growth and creative development of printing for interior markets by Jennifer Castoldi, Chief Creative Director of online design and fashion publication, Trendease International; Creative solutions with digital printed fabrics by Andreas Skantza, President of Big Image Systems AB; Image is Everything by CEO of Druckprozess GmbH & Co. KG, Jan Baden; and The recipe for discovery by Janjaap Ruijssenaars, Architect at Universe Architecture.
There will also be two panel discussions; the first will be the Printeriors 2015 exhibitors’ panel session, which will include contributions from speakers who have created showcase illustrations. The ESMA Panel Session will be chaired by Peter Buttiens of ESMA looking at technologies and key players in this sector.
