HP to Demonstrate Publishing and Production Mail Solutions at Hunkeler Innovationdays 2015

Visitors to the HP stand (37) will experience hands-on demonstrations of the HP T230 Color Inkjet Web Press

Tuesday 24. February 2015 - HP today announced that it will hold digital production press demonstrations and present its latest end-to-end solutions for publishing and direct mail applications at Hunkeler Innovationdays 2015 (23 - 26 February, Lucerne).

Visitors to the HP stand (37) will experience hands-on demonstrations of the HP T230 Color Inkjet Web Press and the HP Indigo 7800 Digital Press. They will learn how the highly productive and versatile HP Inkjet Web Presses and latest HP Indigo digital presses create new opportunities for publishers, transforming their business models.
“Print service providers (PSPs) are continually looking to find solutions that can make them more competitive and profitable,” said Aurelio Maruggi, vice president and general manager, Inkjet High-speed Production Solutions, HP. “HP’s digital printing solutions, with highly flexible in-line and off-line finishing options, offer PSPs a way to address the current book, direct mail, transpromo and newspaper production trends. These solutions can deliver innovative and high-quality end products that can help PSPs maintain a strong competitive advantage.”
High-value applications including short-run books, newspapers, targeted supplements or transpromo direct mail, are enabled by HP digital production solutions. Samples of these high-quality applications will be showcased on the HP stand.
HP will also be sharing a presentation theatre with Pitney Bowes, the designated HP Inkjet Web Press value-added system integrator for the transactional and transpromotional print markets. Both companies will present and showcase inspiring customer stories every day throughout the show.
The HP T230 Color Inkjet Web Press will be configured in-line with Hunkeler finishing equipment. The HP T230 offers productivity and cost advantages for colour publishing in 558-mm (22-inch) production environments. The high-performance, compact press offers fast duplex printing speeds up to 122 metres (400ft) per minute in colour and mono and, with a 520.7-millimetre (20.5inch) print width, provides the flexibility to support multiple applications on coated and uncoated media.
The HP Indigo 7800 Digital Press, also in operation on the HP booth, provides simplified colour management, high productivity and media versatility. Offering direct printing on synthetic substrates with One Shot Color technology, the HP Indigo 7800 enables PSPs to print high-value applications, such as plastic cards, overlays, lenticular applications, point-of-sale and premium postcards. It can also be used as a powerful complement to HP Inkjet Web Presses in the production of high-quality book covers, dust-jackets, and promotional materials.
In addition to the presses and wide range of high-quality applications, the HP stand will showcase recently announced HP digital printing innovations.
Information about the recently announced HP IHPS High Definition Nozzle Architecture (HDNA) technology will be available on the stand. By doubling the number of inkjet nozzles (to 2400 per inch), HDNA will take thermal inkjet printing to a whole new level. The higher quality and performance enabled by this new technology means that HP Inkjet Web Press users will be able to open new revenue streams with a wider range of applications. These applications include colour trade books, magazines, retail catalogues and high-end brochures. With the ability to run the press at higher speeds (up to 800 feet per minute in Performance Mode), productivity can be increased while still delivering the benefits of quick start-up, reduced paper waste, reduction of inventories and just-in-time logistics.
Demonstrations of the new HP Visual Remote Guidance Technology will be offered to visitors. This innovative support service is enabled through HP MyRoom Assist that facilitates faster issue resolution by operators, while collaborating virtually with a remote support expert for an intelligent, intuitive remote support experience.
