adphosNIR booster solutions now available to entrance hot drum equipped inkjet presses

Friday 13. February 2015 - There are today several 20" inkjet presses offered by different manufacturers (e.g. Fuji, Mijakoshi, OCE, Fuji Xerox) but all based on the same press plate form.

In all these IJ presses a combination of hot drum driers with hot air ventilation on the painted surface with afterwards cooling rolls are equipped.
Even though the IJ presses and power units consists of different TJ-technologies, they all show similar printing quality and print performance limitations like
– limited speed due to given dryer capacity at higher ink coverage and/or
– limited speed due to given heat stress to media and/or ink and/or
– limited speed due to over drying/overheating resulting in unacceptable waviness of painted products
– restricted to special coated, costly inkjet papers.
adphos has developed, engineered and successfully proven, exemplary in a Fuji 540 W IJ printing press, that all above limitations/restrictions can be overcome, when adapting adphosNIR boosters into the existing TJ presses.
The given press layout allows the integration of compact high energy density NIR-boosters, immediately after the last PH-arrangement (each for top and back printing).
Depending on the drying power sizing of the boosters, even the operation of the existing hot drum driers are not anymore necessary. Thanks to the adphosNIR working principle no substrate cooling is required, which leads in combination to significant energy savings (? 50 % (up to 75 %)).
The instantaneous adphosNIR-drying capability and low thermal dry out the printing quality is strongly enhanced (higher color density, crisp, gloss, brilliance) and result in flat products. With the upgraded IJ press a wide range of conventional paper, qualities are now also applicable.
For applications of these, IJ presses with given unsufficient rub resistance, also an adphosNIR adequate upgrade booster solution can be provided.
