Inkjet & Digital Printing
Top Reasons to Visit Screen USA at Labelexpo Americas 2014
Thursday 21. August 2014 - The countdown to Labelexpo Americas 2014 has begun, and Screen USA is providing details of its presentations for the event that runs from September 9-11 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Ill. In Booth #3005, Screen will showcase unique digital printing and flexo plate imaging solutions to help printing companies differentiate their products in the narrow web, tag and label markets.
Packaging is everywhere, and the label-printing sector is huge and growing. The Truepress Jet L350UV addresses the needs of label and packaging specialists to cost-effectively produce superb quality on short to medium runs. The most productive UV inkjet label press in its class, the Truepress Jet L350UV provides flexibility, low cost of ownership and a swift return on investment.
Best combination of speed and quality
The Truepress Jet L350UV affords printers who operate flexographic, screen or gravure equipment a reliable entry into variable-data digital label printing. It is an excellent device for trial marketing, versioning and personalization of labels.
The Truepress Jet L350UV prints precise color graphics and well-defined text at a top speed of 164 feet per minute on roll media from 3.9 inches to 13.7 inches wide. The press handles text as small as 4 points, providing excellent legibility for large amounts of information found on drug and supplement labels, as well as many other types of product labels.
Using Screen’s high-definition CMYK and white inks and featuring multilevel grayscale printheads with a minimum droplet size of 3 picoliters, the Truepress Jet L350UV produces a wide gamut of vibrant colors and even tones at 600 dpi resolution. The small droplet size ensures thin and uniform ink coverage without any loss of quality or color integrity. In addition, small ink droplets reduce running costs by minimizing ink consumption.
The Truepress Jet L350UV also features a proprietary four-step droplet size. One pixel includes three droplet sizes. Color blending creates beautiful, subtle tones and photo-level quality whenever required.
Screen’s extensive inkjet experience translates into exceptional lay-down of white ink on colored paper, metallic foil and transparent film in a single pass. Advanced color management technology based on the Screen Equios universal workflow system enables the creation of smooth, vivid gradations. The new inline corona treatment allows terrific ink adhesion for greater substrate compatibility.
All output-related processing can be performed from the front touch panel. Daily cleaning of printheads can be performed at the touch of a single button, ensuring that the system is always in top condition.
Lamination, die cutting and other postpress processing devices can be connected inline to automate label production from beginning to end. At Labelexpo, Screen will demonstrate the Truepress Jet L350UV operating with a finishing line from AB Graphic International.
High-quality flexo platemaking
Flexo printers looking to improve production will be able to see firsthand how the PlateRite FX870II pushes flexo print quality further. The popular digital imaging recorder outputs narrow-web flexo digital plates, letterpress digital plates and thermal ablative film from 4 x 4 inches to 30 x 34.2 inches. An option for imaging thermal offset plates is available. Supporting a maximum output resolution of 4,800 dpi and various screening methods, including Screen’s 4,800 dpi Flexo Dot Hybrid Screening, the PlateRite FX870II creates sharp relief patterns that are ideal for the reproduction of fine lines and cutout text.
Screen USA will perform daily technology demonstrations in Booth #3005 at Labelexpo Americas 2014.
