State-of-the-art equipment ensures competitiveness
Material and energy savings help protect the environment
At the start of April this year, Druckteam Berlin organized an open day and impressed 340 customers with the performance capabilities of a full-service print shop. At the heart of the demonstrations was the new Speedmaster XL 106 six-color press with coating unit from Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg), which won plaudits for its rapid job changes and high print quality. “We produce products for discerning customers from areas such as agencies, industry, and publishing and are committed to providing them with short delivery times and top quality,” explains owner Maik Roller. Druckteam Berlin employs a workforce of 30 and has become one of the best performing offset print shops in Germany since it was founded in 1988. “To remain competitive, we constantly invest in state-of-the-art technology,” confirms Andreas Jordan, who is also an owner. “The new Speedmaster XL 106 has taken us to a new level in terms of quality, reproducibility, and reducing paper waste. Thanks to the short makeready times and high productivity, we’re able to achieve cost-effective results for our jobs, which range from 20 up to 100,000 copies each.” The Speedmaster XL 106 has now been in operation for just under half a year and Roller and Jordan are already delighted to have seen productivity increase by up to 30 percent. Both are trained printers who can provide their customers with relevant expertise. The two owners both highlight the substantial material and energy savings that enable sustainable printing and also save a great deal of money for print jobs with higher grammages in particular.
The pressroom now houses a total of 33 Speedmaster printing units in the three 30 x 50, 50 x 70, and 70 x 100 centimeter (11.81 x 19.69, 19.69 x 27.56, and 27.56 x 39.37 inch) formats, thus ensuring a flexible response to all customer requirements. The postpress operations include six Stahlfolder folding machines, a Stitchmaster ST 400 saddlestitcher, and three Polar cutters.
Visitors to the open day – including many regular customers – were thoroughly impressed and feel they are in extremely good hands with Druckteam. To handle the growing number of jobs even more effectively, the company is looking to further improve workflows from sales to dispatch.
