IBIS signs deal with Meteksan at IPEX
Wednesday 02. April 2014 - IBIS Integrated Bindery Systems, the market leader in digital in-line saddle stitching, has signed a deal on its stand at Ipex (N3-D275) to provide its latest high-speed model Smart-binder SB-3 'Plus HS' to Meteksan.
Meteksan, a large security printing specialist based in Ankara, Turkey, requires a reliable solution for producing high volumes of personalised examination booklets.
At Ipex at London’s ExCel from March 24-29, IBIS has been demonstrating high speed live applications for the sort of personalised, high quality booklets demanded by companies like Meteksan from a digitally-printed web.
Meteksan Inc has been producing more than 30 different examination papers used by millions of people for more than 40 years in Turkey. The increasing demands of personalisation and security – with students requiring their own individual examination booklet meant that the Smart-binder ‘Plus HS’ High Speed saddle-stitching system was the natural choice for Meteksan. The Smart-binder at Meteksan will operate in-line with a Canon ColorStream web printer and Hunkeler web cutter at 100 metres/min.
John Cracknell, Managing Director of IBIS Integrated Bindery Systems, said: “As market leader, we have built our reputation on providing unique solutions and a vital service offering for a diverse range of companies worldwide. We are delighted to have signed this deal at Ipex, which we believe is just the starting block for further orders. Ipex has provided us with a fantastic quality of leads – I am so glad we have exhibited and have been able to show our Smart-binder system in action.”
He added: “Our market-leading finishing systems help us to make print more relevant and immediate to the recipient. Variable-data digital printing, combined with our IBIS on-demand in-line finishing systems, can do this very effectively.”
The IBIS Smart-binder system offers a variety of high-quality saddle-bound booklet (and perfect bound) finishing options for high-volume variable-data output. The Smart-binder operates either in-line with a continuous web digital press, or from a roll (as being exhibited at IPEX), or from an off-line sheet pile feeder.
