SHIMA SEIKI to Exhibit at DTG2014
Tuesday 04. February 2014 - Leading computerized knitting machine manufacturer SHIMA SEIKI of Wakayama, Japan will be exhibiting at the 11th Dhaka International Textile & Garment Machinery Exhibition (DTG 2014) in Dhaka, Bangladesh, in cooperation with its partner Pacific Associates Ltd.
Operating within the Bangladeshi market since 1996, this will be the seventh time the Japanese manufacturer will participate at DTG. As strong candidate for China-Plus-One manufacturing, Bangladesh has seen a significant increase in knit production for export purposes in recent years. At the same time, buyers are demand- ing quicker turnaround for orders with more variety. Adding to that the current demand for higher wages and improved working conditions, and a formula is created for major transfer of technology from manually operated knitting machines to computerized knitting machines. At DTG 2014 SHIMA SEIKI will be exhibiting its latest solutions to meet those current needs, as well as advanced innovations in preparation for market needs in the foreseeable future. In such a way, SHIMA SEIKI intends to distinguish itself from its competition by presenting itself as an innovative company with the strength and resource to lead the Bangladeshi knitting industry into the future.
Exhibited Technology
MACH2SIR123-SV 14G
SHIMA SEIKI’s intarsia specialty machine MACH2SIR offers tremendously high productivity worthy of its “MACH” name. With 40 intarsia carriers, MACH2SIR features the largest number of intarsia feeders avail- able. Maximum knitting speed of 1.4 meters per second in combination with the new R2CARRIAGE System which achieves quicker carriage returns after each course, dramatically improves efficiency and productivity in intarsia production. Previously, programming for knitting with so many intarsia carriers would have been overwhelming, but that issue is solved with the latest automatic yarn carrier setting soft- ware on SDS-ONE APEX3 design system.
SCG122SN 3G
Featuring SHIMA SEIKI’s original SlideNeedleTM, SCG122SN is a computerized knitting machine specializing in the production of coarse gauge knitwear. In addition to such priorities as speed, efficiency and consistent quality, market demand reveals that the computerization of traditionally hand-knitted low-gauge knitwear must place additional emphasis on fabric texture and feel. The SlideNeedleTM helps to achieve just that, by allowing the SCG122SN 3 gauge machine to produce knitwear with robust, handcrafted texture ranging from 2 to 4 gauge.
SSR112-SV 7G
Developed as the new standard for computerized shaped knitting, SSR112 is SHIMA SEIKI’s most afford- able model. High productivity is achieved with a maximum knitting speed of 1.2 meters per second, as well as with the R2CARRIAGE System that achieves quicker carriage returns. SSR112 also carries over all the technological achievements for which SHIMA SEIKI is made famous: DSCS Digital Stitch Control System; full-time spring-loaded sinker system; stitch presser; yarn gripper and cutter; takedown comb; and more. Made-in-Japan quality, reliability, productivity, user-friendliness and cost-performance combine to satisfy the high expectations of the world’s fashion industry.
SWG061N 10G
SWG061N is the central model in a line-up of special WHOLEGARMENT knitting machines. With its compact size specially designed for producing a range of accessory items, SWG061N opens up a whole new genre of knit production. Gloves, socks, five-toe socks, hats, mufflers, leg warmers, neck-ties and other fashion accessories can all be produced in their entirety, with no sewing or linking required*. Featuring SHIMA SEIKI’s own SlideNeedleTM, these items can be produced with a variety of patterns, including full jacquard, intarsia, mesh and even new transfer patterns.
* Some designs may require partial stitching
SDS-ONE APEX3
An “all-in-one” 3D design system that supports all aspects of fashion design and production, SDS-ONE APEX3 is at the core of SHIMA SEIKI’s Total Knitting System and Total Fashion System concepts, allowing smooth workflow from planning, design and programming to production and even sales promotion. APEX 3 also improves on the planning process through photo-realistic simulation capability, effectively reducing time, material and cost from the sampling process with Virtual Sampling. Products can be checked with 3D simulation, such as 3D modeling, 3D fitting and 3D mapping.
