Toray Chooses Akon as Distribution Partner in Poland
Tuesday 29. October 2013 - Expert graphic arts firm offers improved technical service, advice and support for waterless customers
Toray has chosen Akon as its distribution partner in the Polish market. This new partnership will ensure that Toray waterless customers will have an access to the best technical service, advice and support.
Founded in 1997, AKON is located in Warsaw with branch offices in Wroclaw and Gdynia. Its distribution portfolio also includes AGFA, Alwan, BasysPrint, Enfocus, Mohr and Xitron.
“We are pleased to have a distribution partner of the quality of Akon in Poland,” said Junichi Ishii, Sales Manager for Graphics and Chemicals sections of Toray International Europe. “Akon’s expert support will be invaluable in assisting Toray customers in delivering the most efficient and highest possible quality waterless printing. We are happy to welcome them to the Toray family.”
Akon’s priority is to provide comprehensive customer support ranging from materials, through hardware, software, service and training. Its mission is to implement new technologies and comprehensive printing solutions based on the latest science while helping customers lower production costs and increasing quality and customer satisfaction.
Under the agreement, Akon will be distributing Toray’s waterless plates, chemicals and processing equipment, a product portfolio that is ideally suited to the production of a wide array of applications ranging from packaging, laminated plastic cards and labels to security printing and printing on plastic substrates.
Konrad Fedyna, Akon’s President, says, “The opportunity to work with Toray will enable us to offer improved technical service, advice and support for waterless customers. We will also be assisting Toray with better monitoring of the needs in the Polish market.”
Akon will also aid Toray’s initiatives designed to increase market communications as it opens its new European plate production facility in, Prostejov, Czech Republic. The factory will produce all types of CTP plates destined for the European, American and Middle Eastern markets, including highly durable MX10 plates for newspaper and semi-commercial printing. Production in the new plant is slated to begin in November 2013, months ahead of schedule.
