adphosNIR live running solutions at PRINT13
Thursday 03. October 2013 - adphosNIR drying and curing provides a wide range of possibilities for water based inks either for inkjet imprinting or for printed electronics applications
At the Print13 in Chicago, adphos, an international leader in the drying and curing technology, exhibited together with its partners a variety of applications from simple drying modules for easy integration on mailer bases over to TDC (print head positioning with dryers) up to live demonstrations of printed electronics.
adphos showed two mailer bases on the booth, one with a HP C500 print head to print process color on a coated stock and a Kyocera print head for address imprinting together with a HP Cartridge print head for spot color on glossy stock.
Furthermore, in cooperation with Saueressig Flexo GmbH & Co. KG, a pilot roll-to-roll flexo process demonstrated a proven adphosNIR photonic sintering of silver ink (by SunChemical) within 0.2 s on a powercoat-paper substrate (by Arjowiggins Creative Papers).
Another live demonstration was supported by the TU Darmstadt. This demonstration showed an application in a lab scale for baseline investigations. A carbon ink was applied with a silk screen devise and cured in 0.1 s by a high power adphosNIR module on a PBT system, which is designed for laboratory use.
Together with our partner GSS, some further equipment for print head positioning and corresponding adphosNIR drying equipment like NIRWeb-III with the patented onboard electronics for precise process control and monitoring was also shown.
