HP Presents Solutions for Broad Range of Converting Applications at FachPack 2013

Information and samples printed on the recently launched HP Scitex FB10000 Industrial Press are also available on the stand

Monday 30. September 2013 - HP presents digital solutions for packaging, converting and related retail applications, alongside demonstrations of versatile HP Scitex technology, at FachPack 2013 (24 - 26 September, at the Nüremberg Exhibition Centre, Germany).

Featured on the HP stand (Hall 9, Stand 260) is the HP Scitex FB500 Industrial Printer, a hybrid printer able to produce prints on flexible and rigid substrates. For higher-volume digital production, the HP Scitex FB7600 Industrial Press is presented via live video link(1) to the HP EMEA Graphic Arts Center in Barcelona. The combination of these versatile devices shows HP’s approach to the demands on today’s converters for cost-effective short runs, faster turnarounds and just-in-time supply chains.
Information and samples printed on the recently launched HP Scitex FB10000 Industrial Press are also available on the stand. This new press is designed to address the demands for quality, shorter runs and fast turnarounds in the flexo and offset converting market. The press delivers high image quality through the game-changing HP Scitex High Dynamic Range (HDR) printing technology that uses variable drop volumes of light and dark inks to achieve fine detail and dark areas, saturated with colour.
HP now offers solutions for the packaging sector that range from flexible packaging and folding carton production, offered by HP Indigo digital presses, to large-format, high-volume HP Scitex industrial presses for corrugated packaging and display applications.
“HP Scitex solutions offer packaging converters the ability to expand their service offerings and undertake new large-format printing applications that were previously out of reach,” said Arzu Ilhan Babaoglu, general manager, Large-format Printing, Sign & Display, EMEA, HP. “Importantly, this helps them to react quickly to market opportunities while adding value to the packaging and services they can provide to both existing, as well as new customers.”
An entry-level printer, the HP Scitex FB500 Industrial Printer is a versatile printer for short-runs on flexible and rigid substrates. It is also an ideal proofing device for packaging, offering cost-effective final substrate proofs that create the same impact as the final product.
The press delivers output-enriching matt/gloss finishes giving large-format print service providers (PSPs) the ability to respond to a wide range of customer requests. The HP Scitex FB500 Industrial Printer uses UV-curable inks for production in up to seven colours, including an optional white.(2)
The HP Scitex FB7600 Industrial Press prints up to 95 full-size sheets (165 x 320cm; 65 x 126in) per hour in production mode and up to 55 sheets/hour in POP mode. The productivity and versatility of the press allows corrugated converters to expand their services and employ its variable data capability for versions, QR codes and track-and-trace information. Additionally, thanks to the FB7600 press’ ability to print on a wide range of media, including paper and corrugated board, the device enables the production of retail POP/POS displays, CDUs (counter display units), FSDUs (free standing display units) and pallet displays – examples of which will be presented on the HP stand.
The HP Scitex FB7600 Industrial Press uses a six-colour UV-curable HP FB225 Scitex Ink set which provides excellent dot gain and a wide colour gamut with up to 600dpi resolution. These inks are crack and chip resistant(3), reducing damage during folding, and offering additional quality assurance in packaging and other applications.
Specialist product and application managers will be on the HP stand at FachPack 2013 to offer advice and information on these solutions as well as other HP printers and presses for packaging applications.
