Komori America Corporation signs national Dealer agreement with INX International to market NW140 UV digital narrow web press

Monday 09. September 2013 - INX International Ink Co. announced today it has reached an agreement to partner with Komori America Corporation to sell and market the NW140 inkjet UV digital narrow web press. Komori will serve as the sole national dealer in the U.S., effective immediately.

Built in collaboration with Spartanics and powered by the JetINXT print head drive and ink recirculation system, the NW140 press is unique and unrivaled in the marketplace. Incredibly fast, it produces UV-LED cure single pass output up to 80 feet per minute on label stock and combines printing and conversion by using the Spartanics X140 laser die-cutting station to generate brilliant color. The press also can print 140mm wide while providing for easy separation of printed labels.
“This agreement is the culmination of an extensive review of the NW140 by Komori America Corporation,” said Angelo Possemato, National Accounts Director for INX International Ink Co. “They have determined this press not only meets their digital quality requirements, but are very impressed with its laser printer capability. This decision is an excellent opportunity for all three companies and we believe Komori’s sales and marketing network capabilities will greatly expand the NW140’s presence in the marketplace.”
“As Komori expands its market reach in the digital space, the NW140 is a logical next step to meet the needs of both the flexo and commercial markets,” said Kosh Miyao, President and COO of Komori America Corporation.
The NW140 press was designed by INX International’s digital division in Huntsville, Alabama. Jim Lambert, INX Vice President and General Manager – Digital Division, said the press is unique for many reasons and has many outstanding benefits.
“Since we introduced it to the industry, this press has earned a reputation for its automated and precise cutting paths and is known for its fast job changeovers. The high quality technology in this machine also makes for a huge difference. There is no other press that can match what the NW140 has to offer,” Lambert said.
The NW140 employs 12 digital print heads with six ink channels, a custom-designed high efficiency, water-cooled UV LED curing system, and an air-cooled UV LED pinning system. The LED curing lamps are used for the white layer base and varnish to hold the inkjet drops in position before a full cure is added by another LED lamp. The press supports media on 3-inch cores up to two feet in diameter and will use KomoriKare K-Supply UV ink.
Mr. Possemato indicated that Komori will install the NW140 press in the demonstration center at its headquarters after the Print show. KomoriKare service and training program representatives will be educated on all aspects of the NW140 so they can become an Approved Service Provider. Both Komori and Spartanics are located in Rolling Meadows, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago and about five miles from INX International’s corporate offices in Schaumburg
