G&H Print Services Installs Two HP Indigo 7600 Digital Presses to Meet Customer Demands and Drive Growth

G&H purchased two HP Indigo 7600s to enable it to print unique, high-value products using personalisation and variable data printing

Friday 26. July 2013 - HP today announced that G&H Print Services Ltd, of Manchester, has installed two HP Indigo 7600 Digital Presses to create a powerful digital capability and offer new levels of capacity and versatility.

G&H Print Services has continually evolved during its 40-year history with innovative technologies taking the company into new markets and areas of service. Established as a repro house, today G&H Print Services offers typesetting, artwork, repro, conventional and digital printing, imprinting for direct mail and database and digital asset management.
“We’ve always been a company that strives for superb-quality work and we wanted to find the best digital printing solution,” said Dave Hatton, managing director, G&H Print Services Ltd. “We wanted to combine printing unique, high-value products using personalisation and variable data printing, with high-volume production, and the HP Indigo 7600s will meet these requirements.”
Last year, the company acquired Blackburns of Bolton, a long-standing HP Indigo press user, but G&H Print Services itself is a new HP customer. The company regards its investment in the HP Indigo digital presses as a sound strategic move as well as a good operational one.
“We have no doubt that we have aligned ourselves with the industry leader in digital print, and this is what our customers would expect us to do,” continued Hatton. “We believe that printers can no longer rely on just putting ink on paper. Our customers are looking for partners to give them solutions to their problems. These new presses have tremendous power to meet those demands.”
With speeds up to 120 A4 colour pages per minute, the HP Indigo 7600 Digital Press has a significantly increased cross-over point compared to earlier press models. It accommodates a wide range of substrates, including metallics, and can create special effects including textures and raised ink. It can also handle large volumes of complex variable- data print for applications including targeted high-end direct mail, CRM materials and other added-value products.
“Since installing the presses, we have received requests for digitally printed products from both existing and new customers,” said Hatton. “For example, we do work for the greetings card industry and customers in that sector are showing a lot of interest in the possibilities of raised print and the use of white ink.”
The HP Indigo 7600 Digital Press has automation and production features that make it suitable for book printing, photo-specialty and folding carton applications as well as the full complement of commercial work.
“There is no doubt in my mind that we’ve bought two Rolls-Royce digital presses that will be able to give every customer a fantastic product,” concluded Hatton.
