Select Canon imageCLASS, imageRUNNER and imageRUNNER ADVANCE LBPs and MFPs Now Support On-the-Go Printing for Certain File Formats for Android Devices1
Wednesday 17. July 2013 - Extending support for mobile office users and consumers, Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital imaging solutions, today announced its Canon Mobile Printing App for mobile devices supported by Android operating systems, including tablets and phones. The Canon Mobile Printing app enables users in home office environments, as well as corporate and SMB environments to send print jobs for certain file formats directly from their Android mobile device to compatible Canon laser beam printers (LBPs) and MFPs.
The Canon Mobile Printing app is compatible with select Canon imageCLASS desktop LBPs and MFPs2. Additionally, the app is compatible with select imageRUNNER and all imageRUNNER ADVANCE MFPs, as well as select imageRUNNER LBPs3. The app is easy to use and can search for and identify compatible Canon LBPs and MFPs within a wireless broadcast range – and automatically save these devices for use. If the compatible Canon LBP or MFP cannot be found within a wireless broadcast range, users can manually enter the IP address of the Canon device to list it as one of their available print devices.
The app is designed to help users print JPEG, GIF, BMP, PNG, WEBP, PDF files and photographs, as well as web pages directly through the app’s user-friendly interface. The app also supports preview modes for the above listed file formats except for PDF. For added convenience, users can select paper size, color output, single-sided or two-sided printing, portrait or landscape orientation, and number of copies directly from the app. Depending on the finishing features available on the printer, documents may also be set to be stapled directly from the app’s menu. Additionally, users can instruct the app to feed paper automatically or via the output device’s manual bypass.
