AVERY DENNISON LAUNCHES VERSATILE DIGITAL PRINTING TOPCOAT THAT REMOVES NEED FOR IN-HOUSE PRIMING

Wednesday 10. July 2013 - Avery Dennison Label and Packaging Materials is adding a new topcoat, TC7214, that eliminates a cumbersome step in the digital label printing process.

“Demand for digital is still growing strongly in almost all segments. Brand owners value the differentiation and customisation that is possible, as well as the ability to cope easily with proliferating SKUs,” said Kunhao Wang, business development manager, Digital Products, at Avery Dennison Label and Packaging Materials. “For label converters, the challenge is to maintain label quality and visual impact at a realistic cost. Removing the in-house coating step gives major benefits, cutting production times and also reducing the risk of failed runs.”
TC7214 Indigo Topcoat puts an end to the additional risks and costs involved during in-house priming. It has been calibrated specifically for Avery Dennison processes and products, giving optimum ink transfer and anchorage across a very wide range of different segments and applications.
Avery Dennison offers currently the broadest digital portfolio in the marketplace with more than 130 HP-certified products. Both HP-certified PE85 and HGW facestocks are now available with the new topcoat, for exceptional cost performance in HPC and food applications.
Key products in the new TC7214 range are available with a 24-hour lead time, and a Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ) of 500 sqm. There are also four existing and seven entirely new wine label materials using TC7214, giving a much wider choice of digital materials. Designers can choose anything from popular materials such as High Gloss Wine or Rustique Crème, through to innovative ice-bucket resistant constructions such as Frozen Quartz and Frozen Orion Diamond.
