EFI Radius ERP will Allow Netpak to Increase Business Intelligence and Gain Maximum ROI on New Presses

Thursday 20. June 2013 - EFI announced that packaging firm Netpak remains committed to investing in new technologies with its implementation of the EFI Radius ERP system for its folding carton, label and commercial print operations. Radius's complete, industry-focused ERP offering and EFI's proven success in improving workflows for thousands of other packaging and print companies were among the deciding factors for the Montreal, Canada-based firm.

The EFI Radius software will replace Netpak’s home-grown system, which has become more difficult to manage after years of modular customisation to keep up with consistent business growth.
“Currently, any changes we make to our existing system have the potential to jeopardise the integrity of our data,” said Daniel Filion, Netpak’s Communications Director. “EFI Radius will not only streamline our workflows; it will also allow us to maximise the return on our new state-of-the art presses and other equipment.”
Filion said that one of the greatest weaknesses of a home-grown system is the lack of accessible data and reporting capabilities needed to make proactive decisions. He is looking forward to implementing the Radius Business Intelligence module and believes it is going to greatly improve management’s ability to understand how the company can become more profitable. The production scheduling and shop-floor data collection capabilities of the system are also expected to allow Netpak to make quicker decisions on the fly.
At first, Netpak executives were intimidated by the number of options available in the Radius system, but after a closer look, they soon realised that the software was actually quite intuitive.
“The interface is very user-friendly and much more up-to-date than the other options we looked at,” said Filion. “The system is highly configurable and can handle our diverse set of operations. Nothing else on the market comes close.”
Throughout the selection process, Filion was impressed by EFI’s customer service. That experience, along with EFI’s solid implementation strategy gives Filion confidence as the project moves into the implementation phase.
“The team at EFI is well-organised and their step-by-step guidance and well-documented implementation plan is very reassuring,” said Filion.
The move to the new ERP system aligns with the strategic plan of Netpak’s founders, President and CEO Carlo Cammalleri, and Vice President and COO Salvatore Novello. “While most companies cut spending in a struggling economy, Mr. Cammalleri and Mr. Novello have remained committed to investing during these times in order to get ahead,” said Filion. “It has directly impacted our growth and success over the years.”
“As the leading provider of packaging ERP applications, we are always gratified to help respected firms like Netpak,” said David Taylor, general manager, EFI Radius. “With this workflow upgrade, EFI will have the opportunity to support and advance Netpak’s business with proven and innovative Radius technologies designed to make packaging companies more competitive and more profitable.”
EFI Radius is part of EFI’s complete end-to-end workflow portfolio, which also includes e-commerce and web-to-print solutions, digital front ends, and digital inkjet printers.
