Seeing is believing with Xeikon at Labelexpo Europe 2013
Tuesday 18. June 2013 - See The Proof campaign lets label converters experience the quality of Xeikon digital label printing
Xeikon, an innovator in digital color printing technology, announces its presence at Labelexpo Europe 2013. This year’s edition, which is returning to Brussels Expo in Belgium 24-27 September, will be Xeikon’s strongest-ever label trade show presence. Located on its stand 9H45, Xeikon will demonstrate its hardware and software solutions that have positioned the company as leader in the digital label market. Xeikon is also a sponsor of the Package Printing Zone in Hall 12.
“We are especially excited about exhibiting at Labelexpo Europe 2013,” says Filip Weymans, Director Business Development and Marketing Labels and Packaging at Xeikon. “The historic size of the show makes it a terrific opportunity to continue our mission of educating the label and packaging markets about the benefits of digital printing. In that spirit, we are launching an innovative program called “See The Proof” that gives converters first-hand experience with the technology and see the outstanding quality for themselves.”
NEW: See The Proof campaign
The See The Proof program gives label converters worldwide a low threshold way of testing and evaluating the quality of digital printing of their own label projects. Participants will have the opportunity to upload their own label files onto a dedicated website; www.SeeTheProof.com. Labels will be printed on five different substrates – including a PE substrate using Xeikon’s brand-new ICE toner – and can be retrieved at the Xeikon stand during Labelexpo Europe.
NEW: introduction ICE Toner
Labelexpo Europe will also mark the next-step in Xeikon’s unique dry toner technology with the launch of the new ICE toner. “We are delighted to be introducing a new, breakthrough in dry toner technology at the show,” Weymans continues. “Xeikon ICE is the first dry toner capable of printing on PE, a label substrate that is particularly important in the health & beauty segment where brand owners seek not only exceptional shelf appeal, but durability through the life of the product as it is handled by the consumer.”
Most productive digital label presses
At Labelexpo Europe, Xeikon will feature its 3300 and 3500 digital label presses that excel in productivity and high quality printing. The Xeikon 3300, built around the commonly used 330 mm/13″ web width, will be running with inline converting unit, including a laser from GM. The Xeikon 3500 allows the use of material up to 516mm/20.3″ wide, and will be running in a roll to roll configuration. Successful in a wide variety of market segments, Xeikon will demonstrate the capabilities of its digital label presses by printing labels used for Wine & Spirits, Industrial, Pharma, Health & Beauty, Food, and Beverage applications.
More Than Hardware
“The Xeikon 3300 and 3500 are powerful additions to any converter’s production platform,” explains Weymans. “But we also understand that installing a digital label press, in and of itself, is not enough. That is why we are committed to the development of a variety of software solutions that make the transition into digital easier for label converters while adding significant value for their customers. These tools and solutions will be on display in our Software Corner at the show.”
Xeikon software solutions featured at Labelexpo Europe include:
ColorControl, a powerful cloud-based color management tool ensuring repeatable, predictable colors;
ColorMagic, a clever tool that saves label converters printing on clear substrates a significant amount of time in prepress;
Vectorizor, the missing link in a digital print and digital die-cut environment;
MyPress, the state-of-the-art user interface for the Xeikon X-800 digital front-end, built from the ground up and based on input from operators in the field.
Web2Label Production
Xeikon will also be demonstrating its unique Web2Label workflow, an all-in-one integrated solution to produce labels from online input through the integrated laser die cutting of labels.
“One of the differences label converters find when they transition label production to digital is a large number of shorter run jobs that were not possible to produce using conventional manufacturing processes,” says Weymans. “Having a customer-facing web solution that allows customers to quickly and easily upload these jobs with the ability to funnel them directly into production is the only way to manage these smaller jobs profitably. With Web2Label, Xeikon offers a unique workflow to the on-demand label production process that ensures fast time to market, fewer touches and lower costs for the converter and his customers.”
Short-Run Folding Cartons at the Package Printing Zone
In Labelexpo’s popular Package Printing Zone in Hall 12, Xeikon will be demonstrating its folding carton solution with a Xeikon 3500 running the Alpine 516 fuser, with inline Bograma finishing unit. “While labels are moving to digital production more quickly than other packaging segments,” Weymans comments, “folding cartons are not far behind. With this innovative approach to end-to-end manufacturing for short-run folding cartons, Xeikon is bringing its digital printing expertise to the folding carton market as well.”
