TODD PETERSON NAMED VICE PRESIDENT OF CIRCULATION FOR THE ALBANY TIMES UNION
Wednesday 12. June 2013 - Hearst Newspapers announced today that Todd J. Peterson, 35, has been named vice president of circulation for the Times Union in Albany, N.Y. The announcement was made by Hearst Newspapers President Mark Aldam and Times Union President and Publisher George R. Hearst III.
In his new position, which Peterson will begin on July 1, 2013, he will be responsible for circulation sales and marketing as well as home delivery operations.
“We are eager to welcome Todd to Hearst Newspapers and the Times Union team,” Aldam said. “With Todd’s direction, we expect the Times Union to continue to build on its leadership position as the Capital Region’s premier multimedia company.”
Peterson joins Hearst from GateHouse Media, Inc., in Boston where he was vice president of circulation and audience development beginning in 2012. In this role he was responsible for increased sales, revenue and retention for metro and weekly publishing sites. Prior to GateHouse, from 2010 to 2012, Todd was retention and engagement manager of U.S. Community Publishing at Gannett Co., Inc. in Asheville, N.C. He holds a bachelor’s degree from North Carolina State University in Raleigh.
“Todd’s circulation and marketing leadership will be of great benefit to the Times Union and our customers throughout the Capital Region,” Hearst said. “He is expected to capitalize on increasing readership of our products in all their forms including print, digital, mobile and niche.”
Peterson replaces Mark Vinciguerra who left the Times Union in May to become the publisher/general manager at Hudson Catskill Newspapers.
