Carroll County Times to Launch High School Sports Website with Presteligence
Wednesday 12. June 2013 - Presteligence, an industry leading software developer and innovator, and Carroll County Times, part of Landmark Community Newspapers, together announce that Carroll County Times will utilize Presteligence's My Team Scoop platform to replace their current sports-focused website, www.carrollvarsity.com. It will combine news stories, team schedules, rosters, and school information, as well as scores, stats, and standings for all high school sports within Carroll County's surrounding area.
Slated to launch for Fall sports, the new site will allow Carroll County a more efficient manner of gathering score updates and highlights from games for the 10 schools they cover. Staff, coaches, and trusted sources can post scores, commentary, and stats directly to CarrollVarsity.com from their mobile phone, tablet, or computer during and after events.
For fans, this means real time coverage for their favorite teams through score update notifications available via text, email, and push notifications. Designed specifically for usage via the mobile site or App, the site encourages fans to upload photos right from their phones during events. The photos will be auto-tagged to teams, events, and schools.
Bob Blubaugh, Sports Editor at Carroll County Times, said, “Based on previous years, we know there is a high level of interest from our community for high school and rec sports and now we will have a resource to manage it effectively while Sales & Advertising can monetize it. Presteligence will automate much of our manual process in everything that goes into CarrollVarsity.com; from adding schedules of every sport in the beginning of each season to reverse publishing our stories for print and web.”
Behind the website interface, My Team Scoop contains a full sports management system. There is a CMS for posting and editing stories and photos, a communication platform for score updates to fans, alerts from coaches, and advertising promotion notifications among other things, as well as a database of content and user information. Carroll County Times will use the My Team Scoop database for location and event driven pre and post-game promotions as well as email marketing programs based on users’ demographics.
