KLAS UDEN NAMED VICE PRESIDENT, DIGITAL AND ACQUISTION MARKETING FOR HEARST MAGAZINES
Tuesday 04. June 2013 - Klas Uden has been appointed vice president, digital and acquisition marketing for Hearst Magazines. Uden, a direct marketing expert with a track record of planning and growing digital businesses, will start in the new role immediately and report to Liberta Abbondante, senior vice president of consumer marketing.
Uden’s role encompasses marketing and acquisition for print and e-edition subscriptions for Hearst Magazines’ 20 U.S. brands, integrating messages and key data across all channels with oversight of direct print and digital marketing, internal and external online marketing and search.
Previously, Uden was at Dow Jones & Company from 2004 to 2013, rising to vice president of consumer marketing, where he was responsible for managing circulation strategy and driving revenue growth of $175 million across the company’s consumer portfolioThe Wall Street Journal/WSJ.com, Barron’s magazine/Barrons.com, SmartMoney and MarketWatch branded newslettersas well as developing integrated print/digital marketing programs to accelerate digital subscriptions and launching WSJwine, now one of the biggest wine clubs in the country.
From 1996 to 2004, Uden held a variety of marketing and finance roles at International Masters Publishers, a $500 million global publishing company with offices in 30 countries, selling subscription-based lifestyle products through direct-to-consumer relationships.
