Konica Minolta and Radebeul-based specialised distributor Kriesten GmbH sign purchase agreement
Friday 31. May 2013 - Konica Minolta Business Solutions Deutschland GmbH signed a purchase agreement with Kriesten GmbH of Radebeul
As a provider of document logistics and IT business solutions, Kriesten GmbH has been a partner of Konica Minolta for many years. Along with its headquarters in Radebeul (Dresden), the company has branch offices in Leipzig, Chemnitz, Cottbus and Bautzen.
This acquisition of Kriesten GmbH fits perfectly with Konica Minolta’s strategy of driving forward and expanding direct sales of the Optimized Print Services (OPS) offering also in Saxony and Brandenburg.
Since its establishment as bürotec in Radebeul in 1990, Kriesten GmbH (renamed in 1993) has developed into a leading systems house for document logistics and IT business solutions in eastern Germany. Now with five locations in all, Kriesten’s 72 employees generate a turnover of about 9 million euros. In the regions of Saxony and Brandenburg, the company currently has some 3,800 systems under contract and already takes care of a large number of systems from Konica Minolta direct sales.
Jürgen Kriesten, current owner of Kriesten GmbH, will also work for the company in an advisory capacity in the future. In addition, he will continue to manage Kriesten Büroeinrichtungen GmbH, a furnishings business already spun off from Kriesten GmbH in September of last year. Kriesten Büroeinrichtungen GmbH has more than 20 employees and represents one of eastern Germany’s leading furnishings businesses for office furniture, conference solutions and media control systems.
All further information will be provided after the German Federal Cartel Office approves the transaction. That approval is expected in June 2013.
