Execuprint Achieves Precise Color Matching Across Digital and Offset Platforms with Integrated Color Management Solutions from Heidelberg
Wednesday 17. April 2013 - Execuprint, Chatsworth, CA recently put an end to the expensive outsourcing of its color digital production work by installing a Linoprint C901 digital press from Heidelberg. The move saves the company time and money, and gives Execuprint a significant competitive edge through Heidelberg's expertise in color management. The company is G7 System-qualified using Heidelberg's Prinect Color Toolbox suite of integrated color management solutions.
“Our business was growing, and we wanted to bring the majority of our digital printing in-house,” said Michael Farag, Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “We looked around at other equipment, we knew that going with Heidelberg meant we could offer our clients high-quality, short-run, digital printing that would match the color of our 5-color Printmaster PM 52 offset perfector and color proofing device. We bought the Linoprint C901 with those expectations in mind, and we haven’t been disappointed.”
Poised for Growth
The Linoprint C901 relieves some of the burden placed on Execuprint’s Printmaster PM 52 press, and has enabled the company to pull back virtually all gang work from third-party providers. The new digital press also provides the company with built-in redundancy within the specifications of the machine as to stock range and format size. Execuprint already uses the Linoprint C901 to produce short-run marketing collateral on text and heavier stocks, and Farag anticipates the potential for future growth based on the Linoprint’s ability to handle specialized stocks and synthetic materials, because “there are no drying issues.” Finally, while mostly static digital jobs for existing customers account for just 10 percent of Execuprint’s capacity at present, Michael Farag expects that VDP and W2P offerings will quickly become important growth areas for the company.
“What’s really important about acquiring the new digital press has been our struggle to achieve and maintain color accuracy,” said Bassem Farag, Vice President of Operations, who traveled to Kennesaw for custom training on the Linoprint C901. “Heidelberg has been extremely helpful in bringing this about. In fact, since Heidelberg recently finished calibrating the new machine for us, it runs perfectly, our delta-Es are good, and we are very pleased with the color results. We can tell our clients with perfect honesty that their digitally printed sheets are color-calibrated and G7-qualified to match their offset-printed sheets and proof sheets.”
Taking what the Farags describe as an “an old-fashioned” approach to customer service, family run Execuprint specializes in high-quality, same-day work for its clients, which include churches, ministries and other nonprofits, graphic designers, brokers, and business and corporate accounts. In Heidelberg, the company has found a compatible and supportive partner, likewise dedicated to customer satisfaction before, during, and well after the sale. The company locks in its quality advantage by using the full line of Heidelberg prepress and pressroom Saphira consumables.
“There’s a reason we pride ourselves on being a Heidelberg shop,” added Michael Farag, “We knew we would receive excellent service and support on the Linoprint machine, just as we have on our Printmaster PM 52 and our other Heidelberg equipment. Heidelberg has helped us grow so much, and is a continual source of expert advice and support.”
