QuadTech to highlight in-line inspection and color measurement innovations at ICE USA 2013

QuadTech’s optional high-resolution view of dot structure enables operators to quickly identify any issues, without production stoppages.

Friday 29. March 2013 - Modular and flexible solutions achieve complete control over every phase of production on virtually any packaging press-regardless of substrate, ink, or printing technique.

Under the theme of “The Power of Better: People + Technology = Solutions” press technology leader QuadTech, Inc. offers automatic on-the-fly inspection and color measurement equipment for virtually all packaging substrates, at ICE USA 2013, Orlando, Florida, USA (April 9-11, Booth 842).
The Color Quality Solution ensures color quality and consistency from customer-defined prepress targets. It uses in-line spectral data from QuadTech’s SpectralCamTM, ink formulation data from X-Rite and ink dispensing data from market-leading suppliers.
Color Measurement System with SpectralCam HD enables continuous, in-line monitoring of all web-fed package materials with QuadTech’s patent-pending web stabilizer technology, including transparent, translucent and reflective film substrates. The system quickly and accurately calculates L*a*b*, ?E and ?Density at full press speeds, correcting colorimetric and density deviations from predetermined targets.
The QuadTech Inspection System inspects the entire substrate 100% of the time and throughout the entire printing run. It is suitable for flexo, gravure, offset, and digital processes, regardless of web width. QuadTech PDF Verification is a software add-on that compares approved artwork against an actual printed sample to verify correct press setup, ensuring accuracy and quality, to catch errors before production starts. The Web Viewing System provides direct, real-time digital viewing of the moving web to detect defects and register errors before they become visible to the human eye. AutotronTM 2600 Register Guidance System with ClearLogicTM achieves precision register regardless of ink, speed or substrate and can be used on a host of thin, unsupported substrates.
Randy Freeman, Vice President and General Manager of Packaging at QuadTech, comments: “Printers and Converters continually tell us that getting to accurate color quickly is their biggest issue. Our new product developments are focused here and we’re pleased to offer tools to help them achieve this.”
