Mathias Bäuerle GmbH: The continuation of the long-established company has been assured

Wednesday 05. December 2012 - The continuation of the insolvent manufacturer of folding and inserting machines has been assured. The insolvency administrator of Mathias Bäuerle GmbH, Lawyer Martin Mucha from the Stuttgart-based law firm Grub Brugger & Partner, and Friedhelm Brüstle, authorised representative of the insolvent Mathias Bäuerle GmbH, made a common statement on the 4th of December 2012 that an investor has been found after all for the company Mathias Bäuerle GmbH located in St. Georgen / Black Forest.

The news about the rescue of Mathias Bäuerle GmbH came as a surprise, because in mid-November 2012 it was decided to end business operations and to shut down the factory. Prior to this decision, all interested parties with whom negotiations had been conducted in the last few months had declared their withdrawal. According to Martin Mucha, strategic competitors had hoped for a market adjustment. For the other interested parties an involvement seemed to be too risky in view of the prolonged crisis of the printing and paper handling industry.
With retroactive effect from the 1st of December 2012, a Swiss investor has taken over the business operations of the company together with three foreign Mathias Bäuerle representatives and some staff members from Mathias Bäuerle. The folding machine as well as the inserting machine divisions will be continued without restrictions at the St. Georgen location by the rescue company, which will be renamed Mathias Bäuerle Falzen und Kuvertieren GmbH. The rescue company will take over 106 employees and 18 apprentices. Friedhelm Brüstle, who for many years has been Production Manager and therefore has an excellent knowledge of the company, will become Managing Director. The investors have many years of experience in the graphic arts market and are convinced of Mathias Bäuerle’s innovative strength and its product range. In Friedhelm Brüstle’s opinion the decision in favour of investors who are close to MB is consistent and sustainable because these people are best suited to judge and evaluate the chances and risks of the products and the market.
