New issue of Heidelberg News: Productivity – costs down, output up

Tuesday 04. December 2012 - Rising paper prices, narrow margins, and heavy pressure from competitors are part and parcel of life for companies in the printing industry. To stand out on the market even more effectively in these conditions, they need to boost their productivity. This involves optimizing the ratio between costs and output.

In the latest issue of its customer magazine, Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg) highlights how this strategy can be put into practice. Heidelberg News uses the example of UK-based Stephens & George to demonstrate how a print shop, of all places, has been able to develop into an economic flagship for a town ravaged by structural change. Druckhaus Becker from Ober-Ramstadt in the German state of Hesse shows how to make even the most demanding customers happy with high-quality print products. And Ray Hartoonian from the U.S. explains how he has made his family business GotPrint into an international pioneer in the global web-to-print village thanks to highly efficient production.
The magazine also offers an insight into the “online shop building kit” of the Prinect Web-to-Print Manager, shows how the new Speedmaster SX series bridges the gap perfectly between the Speedmaster SM and XL, and explains why a seemingly long-distance runner such as the Speedmaster XL 106 with perfecting device nevertheless comes into its own as a short-distance sprinter for short runs. Another article sheds light on how the Speedmaster XL 106 can work in tandem with the Diana X 80/Diana X 115 in folding carton production to achieve a productivity-enhancing “quality assurance symbiosis.”
Last but not least, the latest Heidelberg News also marks a special anniversary – users from four continents congratulate the GTO on its 40th birthday.
Issue 273 of Heidelberg News is available now.
