Pitney Bowes Establishes Hiring Website Dedicated to Military Veterans
Wednesday 21. November 2012 - Pitney Bowes Inc. (NYSE: PBI) announced today that it has set up a special website targeted at military veterans and their families so that they can more easily find work at the company.
The website, located at www.pb.com/careers, allows military veterans to map their training and skills to a roster of actual job openings listed on the Pitney Bowes site. Simply selecting one’s military job title on the site will call up every Pitney Bowes job opening with a skills requirement similar to that of the selected military title, according to the company.
The new website supports Pitney Bowes’s commitment to the 100,000 Jobs Mission, a joint effort of more than seventy companies to provide meaningful career opportunities to the huge number of veterans who are returning from deployment or from lengthy military service. The 100,000 Jobs Mission estimates that more than 28,000 veterans have already been hired by member companies so far, including nearly 200 at Pitney Bowes.
Johnna Torsone, executive vice president and chief human resources officer at Pitney Bowes said: “Our company is proud to support veteran employment efforts and, whenever we have the opportunity, to increase the number of our employees who are veterans, military spouses or active duty servicemen and women transitioning to civilian life. It is not just our way of saying thank you; it is a recognition that these men and women bring leadership, skills, training and teamwork that can directly benefit our company.”
