Freeport Press will install another Goss Pacesetter saddlestitcher
Tuesday 06. November 2012 - Net productivity and short-run agility prompt publication printing specialist to add its second Pacesetter finishing system in as many years
With its first Goss Pacesetter 2200 saddlestitcher exceeding expectations, Freeport Press signed an order for a second one at the Graph Expo trade show in early October.
“The Pacesetter delivers high quality books at high speeds, is extremely reliable and easy to operate, and can be changed over very quickly from job to job,” explains David Pilcher, Sr., president and CEO of the publication printing specialist. “Those capabilities give us the highest possible net productivity, even in a short-run publication environment.”
The new 22,000-books-per-hour Goss saddlestitcher with eight hopper positions will be installed in the spring at the company’s facility in Freeport, Ohio. Goss International will equip the new finishing system with eight horizontal servo-driven hoppers as well as its FS22 flying stitcher, HT22 three-knife trimmer and BS60 counter stacker.
“Innovative business practices, an emphasis on employee development and continuous investment in state-of-the-art technology have made us a nationally recognized leader in high-quality, short-run niche publications and catalogues,” according to Pilcher. “The Goss Pacesetter technology is a good example of how putting great tools in the hands of great people can allow you to do great things for your customers.”
