American Greetings Announces Content Licensing Agreement with Snapfish by HP

Friday 21. September 2012 - Industry Leaders Team Up to Give Consumers New Way to Express Themselves

American Greetings (NYSE:AM) today announced a content licensing agreement with Snapfish by HP that will give consumers greater opportunity to send personalized greeting cards they create online. Beginning October 2012, American Greetings cards will be available on Snapfish.com where consumers can add photos and personalize verse, while experiencing the same ease of use and quality end-product they have come to trust from Snapfish.
“We have mutually aligned objectives and this agreement represents a natural intersection between Snapfish’s expertise in online photo service and American Greetings’ creativity and innovation in social expression,” said Zev Weiss, American Greetings Chief Executive Officer.
“We know people love to make meaningful, thoughtful connections, and we intend to help them continue to do it in any way we can,” Weiss said. “Through our alliance with Snapfish, we’re giving people access to more ways to create and send personal cards from any computer or tablet, wherever and whenever they want.”
“Whether you’re sending or receiving a personal card from a friend, family member or colleague, cards continue to be a way for people to connect on important life events and holidays,” said Helen Vaid, general manager, Snapfish by HP. “We’re working with American Greetings to provide customers with a lineup of fun greeting card designs that can be personalized with photos and sentimental messages to celebrate key milestones.”
Weiss said the relationship with Snapfish represents the perfect complement to American Greetings product line, which is available at leading retailers and through several online channels, including www.americangreetings.com, www.cardstore.com, and www.justwink.com.
Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
