Voith to Deliver Two Production Lines for Banknote Paper to India
Wednesday 19. September 2012 - Bank Note Paper Mill India has placed an order with Voith for the delivery of two banknote paper machines for the company's plant in Mysore, India. The project covers two complete production lines including all items of machine clothing. Each of the machines has an annual produc-tion capacity of 6 000 tons of high-quality banknote paper.
Back in 2010, Voith had already received an order for the delivery of a complete banknote paper machine from the Indian banknote paper manu-facturer SPMCIL in Hoshangabad. Together with the two production lines just ordered, the three machines will be able to cover the current demand for banknotes in India.
Voith is a market leader for banknote paper machines. Banknote paper machines have to meet high quality requirements – the paper must be ro-bust, dirt resistant and moisture repellent. In addition, there are also high security standards regarding the quality and the production of this special material. Banknote paper contains about 200 different security features, such as water marks, fluorescent fibers or a security thread made of alu-minum, which is inserted by the machine during the production process. For this reason, banknote paper machines are usually custom-built items, adapted to the individual requirements and specific conditions of the coun-try where they are operating.
Voith sets standards in the markets energy, oil & gas, paper, raw ma-terials and transport & automotive. Founded in 1867, Voith employs more than 40,000 people, generates 5.6 billion in sales, operates in over 50 countries around the world and is today one of the biggest family-owned companies in Europe.
