Kodak Shows and Demonstrates Packaging Solutions that Drive Impact and Efficiency from Concept to Consumer at Labelexpo Americas 2012
Wednesday 19. September 2012 - Kodak is driving innovation in packaging and label printing at Labelexpo Americas 2012, showing a broad range of solutions that offer benefits across the packaging value chain from brand owners to trade shops to packaging and label printers and converters in its booth, #5606.
“Packaging is a strategic area of importance for Kodak, and Labelexpo Americas is an excellent opportunity to show the full range of solutions that we offer to support, enhance and protect brands,” said Dr. John Anderson, Kodak’s Packaging Segment Director, Americas.
Flexographic Solutions and Demos
Taking center stage, Kodak will share customer successes, applications, packages and labels that utilize its award-winning flexographic solutions. The KODAK FLEXCEL NX System and the recently launched KODAK FLEXCEL DIRECT System represent the leading edge of innovation, delivering outstanding efficiency and high-quality flexographic printing.
Visitors to the show will see KODAK Solutions represented in numerous locations and will learn how they can “Do More with Less,” which is Kodak’s theme for the show. They also can see a live printing demonstration and learn about the role that the KODAK SPOTLESS Flexographic Solution can play in driving flexibility and efficiency in package and label printing by reducing the need for spot colors.
Kodak, MPS and Reproflex3 (R3) will host an exciting live demonstration of this latest trend—”Do More With 4″ will be shown in the MPS booth, #927. Live demonstrations will be held on Wed., Sept. 12, at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m. The presentation will show how printers can enjoy the flexibility of printing in just four colors and still achieve an impressive color gamut, image quality, consistency and registration. It will imitate real-life production, from prepress to print, with a spotless workflow.
KODAK Systems can be seen in several partner and customer booths, including Xpedx, which will have labels in its booth produced using the KODAK FLEXCEL NX System and printed by Gintzler Graphics. The packaging labels and customer samples in the Xpedx booth demonstrate a diverse range of applications.
Media and print samples from the KODAK FLEXCEL Direct System will be on display at the KODAK booth. The KODAK FLEXCEL Direct System uses innovative, energy-efficient, high-power direct laser engraving to produce superior press-ready elastomer sleeves and flat plates with increased production throughput. The complete KODAK Solution, which includes imager, media and software, allows printers and prepress service providers access to simplified in-house platemaking and more affordable production of high-quality in-the-round flexographic sleeves. The FLEXCEL Direct System uses no solvents, has a low cost of ownership and integrates with the current KODAK Workflow to provide a versatile solution that expands customers’ production capabilities and elevates the capabilities of printing with direct-engraved materials to a whole new level.
Powerful Packaging Workflows and Protecting the Brand
The Flexographic Solutions are complemented by the KODAK PRINERGY POWERPACK Workflow, which is also on display in the Kodak booth. Visitors can learn how to integrate and automate the entire packaging process while delivering outstanding performance and reliability. In-booth demonstrations will show ways to increase efficiencies and speed cycle times with exceptional automation, processing, editing and layout tools, and more.
Brand owners can learn about Kodak Security Solutions and KODAK DESIGN2LAUNCH Solutions for a more efficient and effective branding and packaging workflow.
“Kodak is delivering powerful packaging and label solutions that enable production cost savings and efficiencies without sacrificing that all-important visual impact of the final product,” said Anderson.
At the show, Kodak’s Dr. John Anderson will lead a session entitled “The Future of Combination Printing.” The session will also include Andrew M. Colletta, President and CEO of Nipster USA, and Tony Dardano, Executive Vice President, Sales and Marketing at International Labels and Printing Company. The session will focus on integrating conventional and digital technologies using value-added techniques, with case study examples.
