Wednesday 19. September 2012 - Enfocus demonstrates Switch 11 Versatility with Crossroads Partners

Enfocus together with Impressed GmbH, its distributor for Germany, Austria and Switzerland, will be exhibiting at IFRA Expo (29 to 31 October in Frankfurt am Main) on stand 461. The co-operation will highlight key innovations of automation solution Switch 11 and PitStop Server 11 for PDF verification and correction. Crossroads, the Enfocus Switch community, plans to show the newspaper sector how dynamic automation can be routinely integrated into existing systems. Other Crossroads application partners present will be axaio, callas, CHILI Publish, Elpical and recent addition, Esko.
Thanks to the virtually unlimited combination options of Switch 11 and PitStop Server 11, a new era is also beginning for the newspaper sector in preflight checking and workflow automation: “Alongside our Crossroads Partners, we want to allow trade show visitors to discover the strengths of an automation solution like Switch for themselves. The intention is to demonstrate how easily Switch can be connected to existing solutions. There is no better way of doing this than with live stand demos with our partners,” explains Sukerti Van Schoorisse, Marketing Manager at Enfocus.
Dynamic automation and preflight checking
Enfocus Switch is a high performance, exceptionally flexible solution for automating production work steps. In addition to receiving and sending data, Switch offers unique functions for filtering, sorting and routing data including support for metadata such as JDF and XML. This means that Switch forms the ideal link between MIS, order and job planning systems, web portals, databases and prepress workflow systems or output RIPs. Switch automates many work steps that are currently still carried out manually, and helps to standardize and accelerate the entire production process, as well as reduce any sources of error.
One of the strengths of Switch is the direct connection with a variety of well-known standard applications for automated data processing such as PitStop Server 11 for dynamic PDF Preflight. The new version of recently released Switch 11 Update 1 supports all dynamic preflight and correction functions currently introduced into PitStop Server 11. Based on the high performance Switch variables, these intelligent preflight and correction functions (“Smart Preflight & Correction”) enable Switch and PitStop Server users to use the settings for the preflight checking and automatic correction even more dynamically and precisely. In this version a direct link to Esko’s Automation Engine has also been introduced.
