KBA Presents Interactive Graph Expo 2012 Booth With Drupa-Launched Products

Wednesday 12. September 2012 - New digital and world's fastest sheetfed presses and live press analysis on display

Bringing its well-founded success from Drupa 2012 and the positive atmosphere of Germany’s Oktoberfest, KBA North America will be highlighting its array of new presses at Graph Expo in Booth 2227 from October 7 – 10, 2012 at Chicago’s McCormick Place. The booth will be encompassed by a comfortable lounge atmosphere with German beer and sausages where attendees can learn more about its popular sheetfed, web, and digital products and services.
“We look forward to welcoming Graph Expo attendees to our interactive, informative booth,” says Mark Hischar, president and CEO of KBA North America. “A major emphasis of our Graph Expo exhibit will be a dedicated team of knowledgeable factory-trained technical experts from our Service Select Program with systems that can go live and online to your KBA press in your plant and see what KBA can do to help your company ‘raise the bar’. They will be able to perform press or plant audits, training and education for press operators, press upgrades, and many other indispensable services. We see a distinct trend in our industry for continual process improvement whether it is in gaining greater efficiencies, improved productivity, additional training or higher quality standards. Our Service Select Program delivers these results.”
A special dedicated area of the KBA booth will be devoted to educating attendees about Service Select. Attendees will be able to see live press analysis presented by the firm’s highly-knowledgeable technical team brought in especially for Graph Expo. Service Select is a complete line of customized service products designed to maximize the productivity and profitability of a customer’s KBA press. An array of programs is available for KBA’s entire line of presses-from the small footprint Genius 20-inch to the large-format Rapida 205 81-inch-and are designed to maximize the customer’s return-on-investment (ROI) and minimize costly downtime.
KBA will also present its Drupa 2012 offerings via a video review for attendees to watch. One of the most highly-anticipated debuts for KBA was its entry into high-volume digital print with the KBA RotaJET 76, an inkjet web press. It will initially target printers of books, brochures, commercials, direct mail and magazines. Another attention-getter is the brand-new Rapida 145 57-inch sheetfed press featuring a maximum production speed of 17,000 sph in straight printing; 15,000 sph in perfecting mode with a new perfecting unit; and equipped with a new coater concept; automated pile logistics; SIS sidelay-free infeed and DriveTronic SPC direct drives for fast, simultaneous plate changing; and QualiTronic ICR inline register control. The video review also includes the world makeready champion Rapida 106 41-inch press, which can now print at a record-breaking speed of 20,00sph. Small-scale printers are being drawn to KBA’s new, 18,000sph 29-inch Rapida 76 with dedicated plate-cylinder drives. Producers of flexible packaging are particularly interested in the new Varius 80 variable-format web offset press from KBA-MePrint. The Commander CL (newspaper) and C16 (commercial) web press offerings will be seen via video review as well.
