New Board Members Elected to WAN-IFRA
Monday 03. September 2012 - Newspaper executives from four countries were elected Sunday to the Board of the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers (WAN-IFRA) during the organisation's Annual General Meeting in Kiev, Ukraine.
The WAN-IFRA Annual General Meeting, taking place on the eve of the World Newspaper Congress, elected: H. Van Campenhout, CEO of the Telegraaf Media Groep, to represent NDP Nieuwsmedia in The Netherlands; Theodore Zahov, Co-owner and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Economedia AD, to represent the Union of Publishers in Bulgaria; Giulio Lattanzi, Director General of RCS Quotidiani SpA, to represent the Italian Federation of Newspaper Publishers (FIEG); and Conrado Carnal, Managing Director of Grupo Zeta, to represent the Spanish Newspaper Publishers Association (AEDE).
H. Van Campenhout became CEO of the Telegraaf Media Groep in 2011 and has had a long senior executive career with leading media companies in The Netherlands.
A Bulgarian internet entrepreneur, Theodore Zabov became Chairman of the Board of Economia in August 2010. He previously was CEO of Spectrum.Net, an internet and telecommunications company.
Giulio Lattanzi has been Managing Director of Italy’s RCS Quotidiani since April 2010. RCS Quotidiani publishes Corriere della Sera, the leading national newspaper and Gazzetta dello Sport, the leading sports daily, together with City, a free newspaper.
Conrado Carnal joined Grupo Zeta nine years ago and previously worked in a number of diverse industries including steel and railroads. The Barcelona-based Grupo Zeta is a leading newspaper, magazine and internet publishing group.
The WAN-IFRA Board includes newspaper executives representing newspapers and media associations in 67 countries.
More than 1,000 newspaper publishers, chief editors, managing directors, CEOs and other senior newspaper executives will attend the Congress and Forum, the global summit meetings of the world’s press that begins on Monday.
