INX preps for new product introductions at Labelexpo 2012
Tuesday 21. August 2012 - When Labelexpo Americas 2012 convenes next month a few miles from INX International Ink Co. headquarters, new product offerings and live digital print demos are sure to turn heads. INX (booth #6451) will introduce a dramatic advancement for paper, film and thermal label printing with its new AquaTech ION Label ink systems. Also on display will be the NW140 UV digital narrow web press with inline laser cutting from Spartanics. Labelexpo will be held September 11-13 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois.
The new AquaTech ION premium quality water based flexographic printing ink formulations represent a significant upgrade from the original AquaTech. Each aqueous system has unique characteristics that offer strong performance with superior press stability for better printability at a wide range of press speeds. With brilliant color strength and outstanding transparency and resolution, ION is the ideal choice for narrow to mid-Web flexo operations providing work for tag and label customers. An optional ION-Plus version for printers handling jobs requiring anilox rolls up to 1500 lines is also available.
The NW140 UV digital narrow web press with inline laser cutting from Spartanics is unique and unrivaled in the marketplace. It delivers fast single pass printing at speeds up to 80 feet per minute on any label stock and can print 140 mm wide while providing for easy separation of printed labels. INX partnered with Xaar to produce 14 innovative Xaar 1001 printheads which have seven ink channels. The NW140 also employs Integration Technology Limited’s air-cooled UV-LED pinning system and Phoseon Technology’s FireLine 225 high efficiency, water-cooled UV-LED curing system.
“Labelexpo attendees have been very supportive of our products in recent years, and I’m sure they’ll be thrilled to see what we have in store for them at this year’s show,” said Rick Clendenning, President and CEO of INX International Ink Co.
“ION represents a new formulary breakthrough for label printers. We originally created AquaTech 15 years ago, and the next generation ION systems are built on its success with greater and improved benefits. Two years ago at this show, we displayed a prototype of the NW140 UV digital narrow web press. After several modifications and enhancements including pre-treatment, it combines printing and conversion in one machine using the Spartanics laser cutter. We now have a commercially available label product that you can’t find anywhere else.”
INX will also display a wide variety of tag and label products at the show, including INXFlex ITX free process inks. They are best-in-class UV flexographic products with less plate swell on most tags and labels, pressure sensitive, and shrink and in-mold label applications.
