West Port opts for wider model as it beefs up its cutting output
Thursday 02. August 2012 - Scottish printer West Port Print & Design is upgrading its Polar guillotine form a 580cm to a 670mm cutting width model to enable it to handle SRA2 as well as SRA3 reams.
The Polar 66 will be delivered to the business in St Andrews, Fife, at the end of the month.
“We have a high volume of print from both our litho and digital side. We like the Polar name and Heidelberg as a supplier so we chose to replace the 1991 machine with this wider Polar 66,” says Terry Scanlon, managing director.
West Port Print & Design puts a great emphasis on customer service so having equipment that can meet expected quality and turnround times matters. The company enjoyed a record year last year and is ahead of that month on month this year to date. The company has a walk in shop reception and takes work from students, the public and business locally but also services some major companies throughout Scotland.
The company runs four-, two- and single-colour SRA3 litho machines as well as colour and black and white digital machines. It operates an 8.30am to 5.30pm service.
Polar is the world’s largest manufacturer of high speed cutters and its machines are robust, reliable and programmable.
