Ink Shop secures quality and throughput with water treatment
Wednesday 25. July 2012 - Ink Shop has taken a basic.r water treatment system from technotrans to allow it to control the water in the fount on its Komori Lithrone 429.
The company takes water from a single supplier but needed to eliminate variables to ensure accurate ink-water balance. This is a means of controlling colour quality and minimising waste, even at speed.
“Process control is very critical.” says Stuart Mason, managing director. “Everything is next day deliver so seconds shaved off here and there make a big cumulative difference.”
The company is convinced by the longer filter life and minimal maintenance of the system. It has used technotrans before for ink temperature control and alcohol units and it is happy with the equipment and service it receives.
“We’d probably buy the basic.r again if we needed it for another press in future,” says Mr Mason.
Basic.r is a compact unit that controls the hardness and pH water. It is easy to install and run. Technotrans supplies a range of water treatment systems as well as ink supply solutions, temperature control, chemistry filtration systems, central cooling and humidification.
