Libertas Increases Monthly Impressions Since Installing HP Indigo 7500 Digital Press

Wednesday 18. July 2012 - HP today announced that Drukkerij Libertas, of Bunnik, the Netherlands, has reported a monthly rise in the number of impressions produced since introducing its digital print services, launched with the installation of an HP Indigo 7500 Digital Press.

When the 100-year-old conventional printing company was deciding which digital press to purchase, Libertas chose an HP Indigo 7500 as its first digital press, based on its ability to handle cost-effective short runs, its personalisation capabilities and the high-quality digital prints produced.
“Each day we are surprised by the possibilities of the HP Indigo press,” said Bart Rietveld, senior account manager, Libertas Grafische Communicatie. “Since installing it we have seen an increase in impressions month-on-month and, by the end of the first month, the extra capacity the press provided enabled us to recover the costs of the investment.
“We’ve also been enjoying exploring the capabilities of the press and have been able to create new and exciting applications. There are very few limitations. If the application will fit the press, we will do it.”
The full-colour HP Indigo 7500 is able to match the look of conventional offset products, which is very important to Libertas.
Since installing the press six months ago, Libertas completed a project for a social work company which required personalisation. HP Indigo 7500 Digital Press enabled Libertas to quickly and effectively print a unique identification number on each product.
“We would have been able to do the project before, however it would have been more effort and cost more money,” said Rietveld. “The HP Indigo press allowed us to take on this order and deliver high-quality prints, yet in a cost-effective way, and our customer was thrilled with the end result.”
Libertas offers a wide range of products, including brochures, leaflets and flyers, and uses the HP Indigo Digital Press to produce all applications. The company has seen significantly increased demand to personalise these types of printed materials. This growing interest in personalisation and variable data printing capabilities has contributed to its increase in sales seen since installing the HP Indigo press. In addition, the print speed of the press and the ability to cost-effectively product short runs gives Libertas the versatility to meet customers’ expectations for quick turnarounds and smaller print quantities.
Libertas is keen to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and continue to move forward using new HP Indigo features, such as the optional white ink kit. This allows print service providers (PSPs) to print on a larger variety of specialised substrates, such as transparent, metallic and coloured media, which will enable Libertas to offer a broader range of unique applications.
“We believe that investing in digital print when we did positioned the business well for the future. We hope to expand our portfolio further and continue to enter new markets utilising features of the HP Indigo press like the White Ink,” concluded Rietveld.
