Mimaki to showcase latest innovations for the photography market at Photokina

Monday 16. July 2012 - Delegates attending Photokina can discover the latest cutting-edge imaging solutions by visiting the Mimaki booth. The company will not only demonstrate the JV400-SUV and the UJF-3042, but will also show key products in the photography market for resistant image rendering and printing on a wide variety of substrates.

Staged every two years, Photokina is one of the world’s leading photographic imaging fairs. It attracts vendors, distributors, professionals and amateurs with a passion for photography and imagery. The show runs from September 18 – 23, and is being staged in Cologne, Germany. Mimaki can be found at booth A10 in Hall 6.
JV400SUV – outstanding scratch resistance
The JV400SUV is a revolutionary inkjet printer that offers the flexibility of solvent printing with the durability of UV-cured inks, and is ideal for the photography market. It delivers high quality output that offers high photographic gloss and outdoor durability.
The system’s improved drying and UV curing delivers vivid colours and excellent scratch resistance. The JV400-SUV prints with four colours (CMYK) at speeds of up to 18 square meters per hour.
UJF-3042 – maximum substrate versatility
The UJF-3042 desktop flatbed LED UV inkjet printer can print on a wide range of substrates, including glass, plastics, metals and even wood.
The system is perfect for printing on photo fun products, gadgets, personalized trophies and more. It prints on virtually any substrate, like iPhone and iPad covers, without any need for priming as the printer is fitted with an automatic priming system that only primes where needed. This retains the look and feel of the original item. The UJF3042 is also capable of printing on dark substrates, because it comes with a white ink option. The white ink can be on the fly so the colours remain vivid and clear even on the darkest substrates. And by adding clear/varnish inks one can generate special effects like embossing and spot varnish. This unique device allows users to print photographic images directly onto a wide variety of substrates.
Mike Horsten, Marketing Manager of Mimaki Europe, comments: “Photokina is the ideal backdrop for Mimaki to demonstrate the major role its solutions can play in the photography market. We’re looking forward to showing delegates the very impressive colour gamut and high glossy output of this new printer the JV400-SUV.
“We also anticipate that the UJF-3042 will be very popular at the show, thanks to its versatility and ability to print directly on substrates without using primer. We believe this is a product the photographic market has been waiting for.”
