Melter boosts inkjet imprinting capacity with eight KODAK PROSPER S10 Imprinting Systems with CMYK
Monday 16. July 2012 - Germany's Melter Mail Service GmbH, a Melter Group company, has broadened its options for personalizing communications after purchasing eight KODAK PROSPER S10 Imprinting Systems with CMYK.
The Mühlacker-based company made the investment at drupa 2012, and will use the full-color inkjet imprints to individualize a wide range of print products, such as mailshots, catalogues and other direct marketing collateral.
Long-term user of KODAK Technology
Melter has been using Kodak’s inkjet imprint technology since the 1990s, and has more than 35 inkjet printheads from various generations of KODAK Imprinting Systems. In 2011, Melter began running eight monochrome PROSPER S10 Imprinting Systems in a finishing line for processing preprinted offset webs.
“The PROSPER S10 Imprinting Systems with CMYK will allow us to deliver full-color, high-speed personalization, and create attention-grabbing products,” explains Hans-Jürgen Melter, Managing Director.
“When we looked into the four-color personalization offered by the PROSPER S10 Imprinting System, we were won over by its high quality, the wide range of applications it can be used for, and how simple it is to use.”
Reinhold Frech, Kodak’s Business Director Digital Printing Solutions, Graphic Communications Group DACH, comments: “Melter is a perfect example of a graphic communication service provider using KODAK Technology to create high-impact products. Being able to offer customers the kind of personalized products that their rivals can’t produce will help them increase revenue and expand their business.”
The new PROSPER S10 Imprinting Systems with CMYK are designed for a web finishing line. They will be installed on an INTRO printing tower, enabling the imprinting of various items of information in full color, at up to 305 m/min. Commissioning of the new configuration is scheduled for September 2012.
