Innovation – the Growth Driver for Movers and Shakers

Friday 06. May 2011 - New Issue of Heidelberg News

Innovation is the basis for all progress. That applies just as much to purely technical advances as it does to business development. And yet, no matter how sophisticated cutting-edge technology becomes, what really makes the difference is how people use it. The latest issue of the customer magazine from Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg) takes a look at the clever ways some print shop owners are using “HEI Tech” to boost growth. For example, Heidelberg News pays a visit to Tipografia Valdostana, where – thanks to the FoilStar cold foil module from Heidelberg – Paolo Perrin has succeeded in transforming what was once a team of six into a workforce of 20 employees who handle orders from all over Italy and even France. Muhammad Yousuf Tinwala started off in an even more modest way with a four-square-meter shop he named “Saima”. Today, after using various generations of Speedmaster presses over the years, his business ranks as one of Pakistan’s largest packaging print shops. And Olaf Eggers, who runs a print shop in Heiligenhafen, Germany, that bears the same name, explains how he got his 130-year-old company fit for modern online print business using the Prinect S print shop workflow.
The magazine also provides insights into the benefits offered by the latest Speedmaster CX 102 sheetfed offset press from Heidelberg and outlines how the innovative Speedmaster XL 105-D rotary die cutter works. Marcel Kiessling, Heidelberg Management Board member responsible for Services, explains how the company’s newly restructured service portfolio can significantly boost print shop business. This edition also comes with a services supplement that collates all the key areas in one document.
Last but not least, the latest issue of Heidelberg News also sheds light on the up-and-coming smart-tagging market and offers its own “Augmented Reality” application. Simply place a copy in front of a webcam and a 3D model of a press will appear before your very eyes.
Issue 271 of Heidelberg News is available now.
