FUJIFILM North America Corporation, Graphic Systems Division today announced it will display a full portfolio of wide format printing solutions for sign industry professionals at the ISA International Sign Expo 2011 in Las Vegas, Nevada April 28-30 at booth # 5353. Fujifilm will demonstrate a comprehensive line-up of wide format printers, inks and print media as well as powerful workflow software and color management tools for optimal output. The show will spotlight Fujifilm’s expanded range of high quality products and flexible solutions designed to empower the sign and display graphics industries to attract new customers and increase revenue.
“We will present a strong offering at ISA and showcase products and solutions needed by sign and display graphics printers to succeed in today’s competitive marketplace,” said Masahiro “Sam” Ota, division president, Graphic Systems Division, FUJIFILM North America Corporation. “Our portfolio offers equipment and workflow software, media and inks, plus a full service technical support division. Visitors to our booth at ISA this year will have the opportunity to create a complete solution, customized to meet their specific business needs.”
Among the products on display at ISA 2011:
Flatbed and Roll Printing Equipment
The Acuity Advance HS X2 UV flatbed printer, with its impressive print speed of 462 sq ft per hour in production mode, offers photographic print quality and powerhouse performance that was previously found only with much more expensive printers. The Acuity Advance HS X2 is specifically designed for print applications that require fine detail and high resolution imaging and is available with a roll media option, making it an ideal solution for printing on a variety of materials. The HS X2 will run throughout the show, featuring 4-color plus white inks and continuous printing of up to 21 – 4’ x 8’ sheets per hour. Fujifilm will also demonstrate HumanEyes Producer 3D, an end-to-end solution that covers the entire process of lenticular image production including 3D, flip, zoom and motion.
The Acuity Advance LT UV flatbed printer, the entry-level model of the Acuity series, will be shown for the first time at ISA. The Acuity Advance LT offers fine detail and high resolution imaging technology at a truly affordable price. The LT will be equipped with the roll media option, and will feature 4-color printing on white and clear rigid substrates, while the roll option will be printing on Ultraflex media.
The UVISTAR roll printer, available in 3.5 meter and 5 meter configurations, is designed to print both POP and billboard quality, and can produce output at impressive speeds of up to 3700 sq ft per hour. Capable of producing work on a wide variety of substrates including Polyethylene (PE), the UVISTAR has the lowest cost of ink of any UV roll press in its class. We will be printing single and multi-roll on Ultraflex media on a 3.5 meter press, demonstrating billboard and POP applications.
The Mutoh ValueJet 1618-64″ dual-headed, 8-channel roll printer, will also be displayed during ISA 2011. Printing at speeds of up to 480 sq ft per hour on coated and uncoated substrates, the ValueJet 1618-64″ uses Mutoh’s intelligent interweaving print technology that jets ink in waves rather than traditional straight lines, increasing speed and virtually eliminating banding.
Wide Format Media
All printers running live at the booth will feature Fujifilm and Ultraflex wide format media. Sign professionals will be able to view and get “hands-on” access with a variety of media, including a color-matched array of banner materials, premium papers, adhesive backed vinyl, backlit media, canvas, wall and floor graphic media, and perforated window film. All of the media is designed for use on flatbed and roll print equipment and is the perfect complement to Fujifilm’s printer and ink solutions, offering sign printers innovative ways to produce indoor and outdoor signage for virtually any application.
Software Solutions
Fujifilm will demonstrate a suite of software components at ISA this year. First is Fujifilm’s Taskero Universe ColorPath Verified, which monitors performance and ensures that printers achieve consistent color output from different devices. Taskero Universe ColorPath Verified can be customized to each individual shop owner’s specifications when configured with a web-based anytime/anywhere monitoring solution. Backed by Fujifilm’s Professional Services Group, customers are alerted when a device is operating below established standards.
Also on display this year at ISA will be ColorGATE PRODUCTIONSERVER 6, which can drive over 750 proofers, printers and cutters, including Fujifilm’s complete portfolio of large format solutions. With ColorGATE, customers are able to use one central RIP and one color management system across all of the devices in their shop, allowing them to achieve predictable results and consistent color. The coordinated Quality Assurance Module (QAM) and Media Device Synchronization (MDS) module within ColorGATE assure that you will have optimal quality control across multiple print platforms.
ColorGATE’s Ink Optimizer allows customers to save 15-20% on ink consumption with their solvent, latex or UV printer. A module within ColorGATE PRODUCTIONSERVER, ink optimization is seamlessly integrated within the RIP to reduce ink usage without creating new profiles. Ink Optimizer makes use of specially designed software to generate an optimized print without compromising print quality.
Fujifilm will also demonstrate the functionality and ease of use of pre-press tools for large format inkjet printers and finishing systems. Fujifilm will introduce a new layout tool that simplifies and automates the process of layout and nesting of jobs for printing and cutting, making certain that the most cost-efficient layout is used, saving time and money. A new preflight tool helps identify problems before printing and provides tools to help fix problems automatically.
“We are particularly excited about ISA this year,” said Mitch Bode, vice president, Wide Format and Specialty Ink Systems. “This show gives us the opportunity to demonstrate our new strengths and capabilities, to offer sign and display graphics print shops money-saving solutions designed to help them grow their businesses. Visitors to our booth will be able to see our latest printing technology in action, along with our inks, wide format media, and software solutions.”
Demonstrations will run daily on the showroom floor at booth # 5353.
