HP MagCloud Nominated for Prestigious Webby Award

Friday 22. April 2011 - HP today announced that MagCloud, its revolutionary content publishing web service, is nominated for a prestigious Webby Award in the Web Services and Applications category and named an honoree in the Magazine category.

Nominees for the 15th annual Webby Awards were chosen from a field of more than 10,000 entrants. Additionally, MagCloud is up for a Webby People’s Voice award – voting is open to the general public and is hosted on the Webby’s site through April 28.
“This nomination recognizes the exciting and innovative self service publishing model MagCloud has developed, which delivers unprecedented flexibility, choice and quality,” said Andrew Bolwell, chief MagClouder at HP. “It also recognizes the incredible breadth of work by MagCloud publishers, who deliver one-of-a-kind content and have helped make us what we are today.”
How MagCloud works
Invented by HP Labs, HP’s central research facility, MagCloud takes on the heavy lifting for content publishers by providing automated ordering, print management and distribution services all free of charge. Whether ordering one or 1,000 copies, there are no upfront costs or minimum orders and MagCloud will distribute publications all over the world in print and digital format.
With HP MagCloud, users can publish a consumer magazine, business portfolio, company brochure, customer newsletter, product catalog or any document that serves their needs. MagCloud will take their publication from PDF to printed magazine format or digital download with just a few clicks of the mouse. All content is printed to order using HP Indigo technology, delivering professional print quality with no waste or over-runs, while reducing the impact on the environment.
HP MagCloud also operates like a web-based marketplace where traditional media companies, upstart magazine publishers, students, photographers, designers, businesses and bloggers can affordably turn their targeted content into print and digital magazine formats.
Users can browse the MagCloud magazine racks, order the latest issue of their favorite magazines and have it printed on demand and delivered directly to their mailbox or downloaded to be read on their digital device of choice.
