Daiya Kogyo Co., Ltd. starts to put the pattern material performing the artificial marble effect into market. Its applications include kneading into resins, paints in general and other purposes.
Artificial Marble (or Cultured Marble)
Artificial marble is a construction and housing material. Its primary raw material is acrylic or polyester resin, which is mixed with pigments and coloring /patterning material to create a substance with the same patterns, clarity, and high-end look of natural marble. It is commonly used for bathtubs and bathroom surfaces, and for countertops in kitchens and bathrooms. It is also gaining increasingly wider use to add design elements to electrical appliances and polypropylene products.
Dia Chip (color mica) is an extremely thin, flaky pattern material composed primarily of carefully selected raw mica. As a naturally colored inorganic pattern material with impressive versatility, Dia Chip has the capability to effectively portray patterns ranging from mystical natural stone, to marble-like stone, to heavy pebble textures. This creates unprecedented design and functional possibilities for kneaded materials such as thermoplastic resins, polyester resins, and paint in general.
Daiya Kogyo Co., Ltd. has come out with an improved version of its original Dia Chip color mica. For the new Dia Chip H, heat resistance has been raised from 230ºC to 300ºC. Dia Chip H’s increased product durability means less color fading and breakage in thermoplastic and polycarbonate resin applications and a sharper finished pattern than previously possible.
