Goss International will highlight local resources and leading technologies for high-performance web offset production at Print China 2011

Tuesday 05. April 2011 - Goss International will emphasize its strong, local presence in China and press technology ideally suited to the requirements of printers and publishers throughout Asia when it exhibits at the 2nd International Printing Technology Exhibition of China (Print China) April 9-13 in Dong Guan, Guangdong Province.

The company will present unique web offset innovations that can improve productivity while lowering waste, costs and the environmental impact of printing.
A single-width, one-around Goss Magnum newspaper press tower will be demonstrated at the show, and new features such as advanced folding capabilities, improved tension control for multiple web leads, modified unit cooling controls, digital workflow management with remote diagnostics and optional three-form inking will be unveiled. The Magnum press is manufactured at the Goss International facility in Shanghai. It offers the versatility of a single width, one around press format with speeds that approach double width presses.
Goss International will also highlight its full portfolio of presses manufactured throughout the world and the best-selling products chosen by commercial printers and newspaper publishers throughout Asia. These include the Newsliner, Uniliner, Universal and Community SSC newspaper models as well as M-600, M-500 and Sunday commercial web presses.
Goss International is owned by Shanghai Electric and will exhibit along with other divisions within the Shanghai Electric group of printing equipment suppliers during the Print China show.
In a 1,020-square-meter booth, products to be demonstrated under the Shanghai Electric banner include a sheetfed offset press, an automatic die cutting machine with stripping unit, a saddlestitcher, a perfect binding line and a paper cutting system. “Printers and publishers in the Guangdong Province and throughout China are embracing advanced, industrialized printing capabilities,” explains Jochen Meissner president and CEO of Goss International. “We have earned a leadership position in the commercial web and newspaper sectors by delivering the press technology they need and backing it up with a long-term, local presence.”
Meissner emphasized that the first Goss presses were installed in China in 1980 and that more than 3,500 Goss printing units have been installed in the country over the past decade. He says the acquisition by Shanghai Electric has presented opportunities to further integrate and streamline the Goss manufacturing, sales and support network in China, providing more resources, more product choices and more efficient access for customers.
