Generating 96% less waste than metal cans and up to 30% less waste than other bulk foodservice packaging films, new Liquiflex Advance film from Curwood takes home high honors in the 2011 FPA Achievement Awards Competition.
Featuring a proprietary 13-layer film construction, new Liquiflex Advance film technology includes redundant nylon and EVOH layers for unprecedented strength, abuse resistance and barrier. The unique construction provides a strengthening effect that allows pouches to be downgauged up to 30% compared to traditional bulk liquid films without compromising structural integrity. The benefits add up throughout the supply chain, with better space utilization in transit and storage; less product waste thanks to greater roll footage and fewer changeovers; and 30% less landfill waste.
“Were honored that Liquiflex Advance film was recognized with an FPA Gold Award,” says Jon Pietsch, Curwoods Market Manager for Liquid Flexibles, “the film is a big leap forward for the bulk foodservice packaging industry, and it is part of a total film and equipment solution that raises the bar for performance, efficiency and ease of use.” Liquiflex Advance film is optimized to run on Curwoods Liquiflex AV Series Bulk Liquid VFFS equipment as well as all industry-standard lap seal bulk packaging equipment.
Designed for products from 1 to 15 liters, Liquiflex Advance film is engineered to protect the taste and quality of refrigerated, frozen or shelf-stable foods. Filled pouches are field-tested to resist tearing, shearing and puncture, staying hermetically sealed until opened for use. The film goes from freezer to re-thermalization in boiling water for easy food storage, prep and serving. Optional features include easy dispensing with specially engineered fitment options and high-impact printing to convey cooking instructions or showcase marketing messages right on the package.
On the production line, Liquiflex Advance film delivers outstanding machinability and sealability for superior productivity. The film stays crystal clear, stiff and strong in applications up to 212ºF. Its unmatched thermal stability allows for improved weight control and less product giveaway on hot-fill applications.
