Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America (SIICA), a division of Sharp Electronics Corporation, today introduces the MX-2610N, MX-3110N and MX-3610N workgroup MFPs, the first multifunction models that feature the companys revolutionary new user interface (UI). The A3 color and monochrome workgroup, available in 26, 31 and 36 PPM, also offers enhanced image quality, superior data security and an energy efficient design.
Introduced at Sharps 2011 National Dealer Meeting, the new UI on these models brings unprecedented interactivity, ease-of-use and customization to the document management experience. Operating in a manner similar to todays most advanced smart phones, Sharps new user interface provides easy access to all MFP features, each of which are viewed as familiar icons. Users can perform all tasks using “flick,” “tap,” “slide,” and “drag” gestures on a large 10.1-inch color Sharp LCD touchscreen.
Icons perform the tasks the user intuitively expects them to, and the system smartly guides the user based on the previous command to help them quickly execute the desired function, while a full-size retractable keyboard provides easy data entry. In addition, these models are highly customizable and offer users the ability to personalize the home screen by adding custom backgrounds, icons or language.
“The new Sharp MFP user interface will forever change the way users perceive a copier,” said Mike Marusic, vice president of marketing, Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America. “The focus was to make a product so intuitive to use that businesses would be able to fully maximize the technology in which they invested. With the ability to easily navigate as well as customize and personalize the interface for each individual user, we have provided our customers with a valuable business tool.”
The new series feature an energy-efficient belt-fusing system that offers low power consumption, fast warm-up and enhanced print quality. They are also ENERGY STAR compliant and have an innovative energy-saving mode that can automatically adjust to changing usage patterns. The MX-2610N, MX-3110N and MX-3610N also help reduce waste with a virtual proofing feature. Users can see and proof the entire document on the MFPs large color LCD panel before printing. Page layout and staple or hole-punch locations are also demonstrated onscreen to ensure that fewer mistakes are made while printing.
“While our amazing new interface represents a breakthrough for the category, its important to not to overlook the other great performance specifications and features our new line of MFPs offer,” said George Grafanakis, senior product marketing manager, Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America. “Combining the new UI with great image quality, energy-saving features and industry-leading security makes this a truly world class MFP.”
Sharps enhanced second-generation micro-fine toner technology enables these MFP models to offer high-quality images page after page. The 1200 x 1200 dpi printing capability provides clear, crisp images even on jobs with fine detail. The MX-2610N, MX-3110N and MX-3610N also feature support for paper up to 110 lb index stock and “heavy media” (up to 140 lb index stock).
Sharps industry-leading ImageSEND technology enables printing of up to 50 images per minute both in black & white and color. Easy search and identification of documents stored on these models is made possible by a robust 86 GB document filing system with thumbnail view and image preview. In addition, the models are available with a super G3 fax option which has intelligent inbound routing to email.
These MFPs support the latest Sharp OSA 4.0 development platform, which enables businesses to easily integrate with network applications and cloud services. The new models also feature the network-ready PCL6/PCL5c printing system with direct print function and PS3 and XPS options. The series provide the standard Sharps award- winning security with 256-bit data encryption and up to 7X overwrite protection for secure data handling.
