MWV Addresses Beauty & Personal Care Industry’s Needs with New Packaging Solutions

Monday 21. March 2011 - Highly customizable, consumer inspired solutions to be showcased at Cosmoprof 2011

MeadWestvaco Corp. (NYSE: MWV) will present its most renowned products, along with newly launched innovations that have been created based on research and consumer insights at Cosmoprof 2011 in Bologna, Italy, March 18-21. MWV will also exclusively unveil its new Mark VII Max mist sprayer and AdagioTM all plastic pump.
“MWV prides itself on its close relationships with customers. The industry is looking for beauty and personal care packaging that is highly customizable, sustainable, and efficiently manufactured,” said Eva Martin Fernandez, MWV’s marketing manager for Beauty & Personal Care Europe. “We believe the new Mark VII Max and AdagioTM all plastic perfectly complement our existing range of solutions to meet our customers’ growing demands.”
The updated version of MWV’s Mark VII mist sprayer is now available in three different outputs (0.160, 0.200 and 0.300ml), adjustable to any specific need without modifications to the material, the accumulator, the size or the exterior of the sprayer. The output is easily changed through the closure, enabling a higher production capacity and quicker turnaround time. Pushing the limits of customization and decoration, Mark VII Max will offer a combination of heads and hoods, in addition to the various outputs now offered. The sprayer is compatible with most products, including high viscosity and other aggressive formulas.
Further responding to the need for more sustainable products, MWV will unveil a new version of AdagioTM, a sleek and low profile cosmetic pump. AdagioTM all plastic is more sustainable thanks to its metal-free composition, while maintaining its unique innovative high output, lock-up system and a suck-back effect that prevents residue from getting in the spout. AdagioTM all plastic is perfectly suited for moisturizers, lotions, body care treatments and hair serums.
“MWV continues to develop optional customizations and decorations for a variety of products to allow customers to differentiate their brands on the shelves,” added Martin Fernandez. “MWV is offering an infinite range of options, colors, designs and patterns to our cosmetic and fragrance solutions to ensure each product is packaged in a unique way that will uniquely align with customers’ established branding and really create impact with the consumer.”
Attendees of Cosmoprof 2011 can visit the MWV booth in located at P19- Stand A21 B22 which will also feature beautiful and customizable fragrance pumps and folding carton solutions.
