On March 14, 2011, Sun Sentinel reaches its 100th year of delivering South Florida the news. “Throughout this 100-year history, weve been privileged to be an advocate and watchdog, a source for information during severe weather, a forum for historic presidential elections, a resource for saving money and more,” said CEO and Publisher Howard Greenberg.
A brief look back reveals headlines of such monumental events as the 1913 inaugural address of President Woodrow Wilson, the impact of World War II in South Florida in the 1940s, the Cuban missile crisis in 1962, the Florida Marlins World Championship in 1997, the examination of FEMAs funding in 2005, and the investigation into convicted felons caring for our children and elderly in 2009.
